Is this the worst lost in recent history? Worse than McNeese? I say yes and I am completely fed up. I was never one to want to throw Bustle under the bus for every mishap, but this is unacceptable. It's time to fire Bustle and move on. How long can we keep supporting a loser with no dedication to improvement. Athletic Department scores an F in my book until a change is made. Embarrassed and angry.

But loss to Div. III N. Alabama was way worse.

No excuses. I like Coach Bustle but it's evident that he's taken us as far as he can.

New blood is needed and it will come.

That's the kind of loss that can be a program killer, no doubt about it. Although UL is in no position to have an "easy win," you can't build alumni support or a fan base by getting crushed at home, on HOMECOMING, by a team that had never before beaten a Division I team. In order to field a competitive product, this program needs money. The money is going to have to come from alumni and supporters of the program. Unfortunately giving up 54 points and getting crushed at Homecoming doesn't help the cause. It's easy to suggest that Bustle should be fired. The problem is, who are you going to replace him with? Historically the head coaching position here has not been a stepping stone job for young, bright coaches. It's been a coaching graveyard and has been the end of the careers for previous coaches. But, you can't hire any of those young hotshots without money. And the money doesn't stop with the head coach's salary. The program needs an increased budget to be able to compete. No matter what you think of Bustle's abilities, you have to acknowledge that he's working with one of the smallest budgets in the conference, a conference which is one of the smallest in the country. Bottom line, I don't see this getting much better any time soon, because historically this program doesn't get the financial support from it's alumni that it's going to take to overcome the obstacles that it faces.

My reply has nothing to do with the topic. I just wnated to express my excitement when i found this forum! So glad i have finally found a way to express my opinions about ragin cajun athletics and also to read others opinions. My co workers are LSU fans and have no interest in the ragincajuns. I myself just became a fan about 5 years ago. I was talking to my wife about how expensive it is to go to a LSU football game. I told her I would never be able to take mt three kids to a LSU game. Then it hit me! I have a D1 school 20 miles from my house. Practically, my back yard. Games don't cost and arm and a leg. Hell, people have given me and my kids tickets before we get to the gate! I am a Ragin Cajun fan for life and proud of it. I just wish i would have paid attention to the program sooner. Better late than never. GEAUX CAJUNS!

I wasn't following the program when UL loss to North Alabama, with that said, this is the worst loss I've been around for and much worse than the Mcneese loss. I did some digging and I'm about to really depress some people. of the 100 players listed on the WKU football roster portion of their website, 70 of them are sophomores, freshman, or redshirt freshman...another 4 are either Jrs or Srs that are JC transfers...so basically what I'm saying is that 74% of that team has never been part of a team that had ever won a game at the D1 level....until they faced UL on homecoming...man why did I have to depress myself like that.

I WAS in the stands during the North Alabama debacle sitting behind the parents of one of their players. I asked the dad if this was their biggest win, and he answered that it was the, hands down, most historical win for their program.
