Not true. DIII is a glorified high school program. An OC from Boise State would have witnessed the growing of one of the best midmajor football programs ever. Also, he would have DI recruiting contacts.

Your mentality of paying someone 125K is extremely short sighted. Also, no coach would take a one year contract, it just doesn't happen.

You want to go for a DIII coach and we wonder why we're terrible? Harsin has been there for the rise of Boise from peon (UL) to an elite football program. It's not 100% but it's better than just accepting mediocrity.

UL has never hired a DIII HC so "why we are terrible" doesn't apply. Besides "otherwise" meant last resort.

But and however, every UL head coaching hire in the last half century has been a Coordinator from the top level so "why we are terrible" would apply there.

He did it at a program that refused to play money games with the fans.

I think "money games" will be the biggest hurdle in finding the next UL head coach.

I'm talking the mindset of settling on DIII coach and others who want to hire Lewis Cook. I also wouldn't compare Rickey Bustle to Brian Harsin. Just my opinion.

Chuck Heater - Experience, ability to assemble a solid staff, solid recruiter.

Joey Jones - I doubt that we could lure him away from USA, as they will go to a bowl game in their 1st DI elidgible season if he stays.

Gunter Brewer - The most underrated offensive passing mind in the country, would love to see what sort of mad scientist passing offense UL would have with him at the helm.

Coach Broadway at Grambling St.??? Longshot but they have had success there heh _

I like Broadway also, but not the first choice. He has been on a 1996 National Championship Staff with Florida. He was under Bob Stoops and Steve Spurrier. He knows the Southern region well coming from North Carolina, Duke and Florida and Grambling. That really help in recruiting. Most of all he has proven himself being succesful at school with limited resources. As I said not on the top of the short list, but definitely we should seriuosly consider him.
