I do not believe this act yesterday by a fan had anything whatsoever to do with the outcome of the game. When we suck as much as we sucked as a football program yesterday... we should be saying a little prayer that someone didn't burn the stadium down.

I absolutely seriously doubt our players are as feminine as some of you guys make them out. As a coach... if I ever caught a player turning around and reacting to a fan... he wouldn't be able to walk the rest of the week. When you fail.... you take the criticism. It is a beautiful thing. It works.

I believe one of the reasons we aren't a very good football program... besides the leadership... is the feminine nature we approach football. Football is just a game... but it is a "war game". It simulates battle so that we circumvent actual battle. It is supposed to be about men being brutal... under a set of rules. The spectators are also supposed to yell and scream any damn thing they want.

Would you girls please leave the room and stop gaying up our football program? That includes you girls parading around with scrotums. If I were a young man playing on this football team... the very last thing I'd want is for one of you girls to defend me.

    Wow. Just wow.

I agree that our team is obviously approaching the game wrong. But you are supposed to be able to take kids to a game, so I disagree with your assertion that fans have the right to yell anything they want. You aren't supposed to be able to just launch profanity whenever you want.

I agree that the players shouldn't react to the fans. I agree that the coach should freak out when the happens. I've screamed at players before, but if you are sitting amongst players parents, they are going to come back at you. Bottom line.

I agree that the fan interaction with players had zero outcome on the game. We were outclassed in every facet by a program that hadn't won a game in nearly three years. But can we all just take a step back, and not be at each others' throats. The fans screaming of insults or scrotal parades had nothing to do with the result last night.

This is not pro football nor or we a&m@br fans... Booing the kids or worse should never happen....

Now booing the coaches is very much appropriate in my opinion... Sometimes you can't distinguish who the boos are directed at.. But you can ID if you are yelling at a player...

I believe the person who yelled at a player stated that he did not use profanity. I don't like what he did. But, I don't care. I don't want to hear about it on the day of or even week of this pathetic game. How one or even 10 in 10,000 or 20,000 fans acts is absolutely inconsequential to me as far as this program goes. They are minor issues to be handled as they happen.

We could talk endlessly about some girl flashing her boobs at the game or some other stupid nonsense. It's Oprah BS and I'm sick of the microanalyzation of fans and fan behavior when our program is in shambles. I also do not want to hear from the political correctness committee that thinks we all need to hug our team.

The only people that have a realistic voice right now should sound p'd off. The powder puffs of UL need to go away for a while.

Agree. I don't think anyone would have brought it up, unless the guy who did it did.

I agree with you, the discussion should be focused on how we right this ship. I refuse to be the string quartet on the Titanic.

I'm not disagreeing with you. Agreeing with everything you said, except that fans should be able to yell anything they want.

He said that I should go on the fid and try, and I td him that if it wasn't for people like me, he wouldn't have a scholarship. I told him that he is better than what he is showing and we expect more. Then the mom started screaming at me and I told her that this is not a high school and if she can't take it, then she can go with her son.

I once again was never vulgar and Father asked me to calm down and I did for a while. Then, Grant Fleming, who I have the utmost respect for, turned to me and said "it's just a game". I understand that, but when you are a D1 athlete getting a free education, it's not just a game. Maybe if the Cajuns treat this as more than a game, we won't get embarrassed like norma to an 0-26 team.

First of all this is Grant Fleming #47 for the Ragin Cajuns. I do not need an alias name to hide behind. I would like to start by saying that I never said that "this is just a game" or even knew cjr3888 was yelling at Bernard Smith. I heard some guy yelling in the stands the entire game about how much we sucked because we were losing to an 0 and 26 team. How much he hated Coach Bustle and Coach Fouquier. He did not make these comments one time but from the start of the game until the end. So at one point in the game I was very frustrated because I cannot help my team because of an injury and turned to the stands to see this man degrading my team. I simply mouthed to him that if he hates us this much then why doesn't he leave. I never said anything about "its just a game". I have been playing this game since I was 8 years old, trust me it is more than a game. If you knew how hard we work you would know it is more than a game to all of us. I would also like to say that if you do have the utmost respect for me then please don't degrade my team and coaches that does nothing to help. Secondly, for raginwaldo and his comment about how we need to recruit players who give a ________ about this alma mater. I had offers to go play for Northwestern in Illinois, University of Houston, the Navy, UL Monroe, and a few other colleges but I chose to come here. I chose UL because I wanted to change the program. I was tired of people talking trash about my home school and felt like if I stayed home then maybe I can get some other local talent to stay here. I care more about this University more than I can say in this message. Another thing to raginwaldo, why would you say send me to a JUCO for something I never said. That is the problem with this site people think they hear things or know partial truths and make players and or coaches out to be the bad guy. Just like when I broke my hand against Georgia. I used a persons phone to text my parents because they were freaking out and did not know what happened to me so I let them know I was alright. I did not even have my phone on me and that was the only text I sent. Then because the camera turned to me when I was texting, everyone assumed I am texting friends and that I don't give a ______ about this team. Please just be sure you know the facts before you degrade a player. Finally, I just think it is sad that even when you play a home game you still have to put up with your own fans talking trash about your team. I am not sending this to start a fight or anything. I am very grateful for the fans we have and hope to see more in the future. I just wanted to set the facts straight about what I so said did. I hope all of you will continue to come to support us. We need all the support we can get. Thanks again. Go Cajuns.

    Grant
I will not speak for other fans but as a very frequent critic of the administration and the coaching staff I have often been accused of not supporting the players. I was thrilled when you signed here and I heartily thank all of the players for your efforts in playing sports at UL. I do have problems with the way our university (I have 2 degrees from UL) runs its athletic department. I show up every week however and as my post above states think it is wrong and unacceptable to boo or yell at the players.
Your efforts and those of your team-mates are applauded and appreciated more than you realize.

Dude, you should never had to defend anything! Most of us know that you and the athletes on this team want to win. You know where I stand and I think most of the fans will support you guys no matter what happens the rest of the season. I will be there for the FIU game and for you guys on senior night. Hang in there and I hope you can get back on the field soon.

    Grant,

Well said; you have a lot of class. I know all of us that love this University are very frustrated right now (including me) and we all vent our frustrations differently. Hope to see you on the field soon.
