UL was undefeated and won the Oil Bowl. The only slight on their record was a tie to an All-Star team like their own. The team that tied UL had started the season had no uniforms waltzed in Arkansas asked to borrow uniforms and proceeded to defeat the Razorbacks on their home turf.
UL redeemed the tie by winning the Oil Bowl against the same opponent and thus preserved an undefeated season with the best team ever to hit the field in the history of collegiate football.
