The manhunt for Paul Collins Junior is now in its 19th hour (started at 10:30am Tuesday). Collins is an accused murderer who escaped from prison yesterday. St. Martin Parish deputies say Collins jumped off the roof of the jail and got away.
Deputies say correctional officers were escorting inmates to the jail's roof-top recreational area when Collins overpowered a guard and got away. Collins was being held for the murder of his estranged wife.
He was wearing an orange prison jumpsuit, but deputies say he may have taken it off and could be wearing a white t-shirt and gray sweat pants. Collins is six foot three about 200 pounds and clean shaved and bald.
