We have a PG who is a playmaker. We do need a few guards to fill the spots that will be vacated by Bureau and Daigle next season. Jackson would have been nice as he and Andrews come from the same high school and played together already. Billy is a great guy. I don't see him at Murray state for too much longer. He does have strong connections in Hammond and is highly respected there.

Raymone Andrews. he's a GOOD defender and a GOOD passer. Not much of a shooter but we have enough of those anyway. Sounds like the type of player you were talking about. Just forgot to look on our own team.

Andrews was told to play defense and distribute the ball last season. It will be interesting to see how he performs this season under Marlin, who has a strong track record of developing guards.

Your point guard is a playmaker he may not be the one scoring all the points but he does get the ball where it needs for plays to be made. Last year Lee told Andrews not to shoot and all the offense went through Chris and Tyren. Further more it takes a team to win a conference championship not a superstar. We had Sunbelt MVP and lost in the first round to a team We beat twice! One of those wins when your PG scored 17 pts protecting the ball getting fouled and knocking down free throws. Coaching, team play and balanced scoring wins not a superstar. Ask Lebron.

Oh and Cajuntime your PG is a three time all state player who won two state championships on the Cajundome floor and scored over 1200 pts in high school. He may not be dynamic like the ones you mentioned but he knows how to win and what it takes.

Marvin Frazier Jr., a big man from Zwolle, signed with Northwestern State today. Not a huge loss. He was rated behind Kadeem Coleby (who signed with Cajuns) on UL's recruiting board.

As for Shawn Long, the Cajuns rated him behind Smith. Louisiana Tech and the Cajuns are at the top of his list.

The other main recruiting targets for the Cajuns have not been mentioned anywhere yet. Will have more on them in the near future.

Josh I saw you tweeted eariler that we since WKU lost a big recruit that we may compete with them and UNT for the top recruiting class in the SBC. I heard our class was good but is it really THAT good? Because I heard WKU was landing some big name recruits.

Western Kentucky has five signees (all three-star prospects led by SG Derrick Gordon, the nation's 135th-best player) and the 25th-best signing class by Rivals.com. But that ranking includes four-star PG Cezar Guerrero (No. 61 nationally), and he will wait until spring to sign and might end up elsewhere. WKU's ranking falls without him.

North Texas signed three of the top 32 prep recruits in Texas as well as the No. 70 player in the state and the 92nd-best JUCO player.

The Cajuns have three JUCO signees among the top 150 nationally, including the 50th-best in F/C Kadeem Coleby (Daytona State College). Plus, Mississippi prep G/F Kentwan Smith (Piney Woods) was a sleeper but had started to gain more attention before signing. He could be a three-star recruit with a strong senior season.

A strong finish in the spring for the Cajuns might not beat out WKU, but that's just because the Hilltoppers have a loaded class. The Cajuns addressed several needs, and those JUCO guys will have a chance to start immediately.

Speaking of Western Kentucky, Rivals.com and Scout.com report that Guerrero has decommitted. Our friend Nick Baumgardner in Bowling Green spoke with his brother, who said WKU is still in play. The decommit drops WKU out of Rivals.com's top 25 recruiting classes.
