    Ragin' Cajuns Conference & schedule

As I read all your posts, I sometimes wonder why it seems everyone is throwing away the season already.
Looking at the standings and who we have to play 5 conference games and one BCS team that we can beat.

The easiest part of our schedule is ahead of us. We got Green back and hopefully more of the various injured players will return.

Everyoone is down on Bustle and the staff, when was the last time we had this depth in players. 2nd, 3rd team and deeper playing due to injuries and performing. It was these players who just got worn down by a top BCS school that is fast becoming one of a few undefeated teams in the nation.

I'm thru with the negativity during the season. Remember players get on these boards. If we don't go 7-5, then 1-minute after the last game start your fire Bustle posts, but for now support our University, our TEAM, our Coaches, our Players and our Fans. Yes, I included our fans, because the game against Okla State on TV did look good.

    Sun Belt Standings
    TEAM CONF OVERALL
    Troy 3-0 4-2
    Florida International 2-0 2-4
    Louisiana-Monroe 2-1 3-3
    Louisiana-Lafayette 2-2 2-4
    Arkansas State 2-2 2-5
    Middle Tennessee 1-1 2-4
    North Texas 1-3 1-6
    Florida Atlantic 0-2 1-4
    Western Kentucky 0-2 0-6

I agree> After trying to watch Troys feed last night what I saw of the play was very encouraging. I really believe they can beat anyone left on their sch. excluding Ole Miss and they could there also, if they play the whole game, limit their mistakes and have an officiating crew who know their a_ _
from a hole in the ground. GEE that was horrible last night. Someone has it in for us.

I said it in the beginning of the season and I'm still sticking by it, the problem with the remaining part of the schedule is that we have 4 road games remaining. We should win the 2 at home, but you're looking for Bustle to win 2 on the road in 4 games to get to 6-6. The Cajuns won't win at Ole Miss, so now you're looking at winning 2 of 3 on the road to get to 6-6. We have Ohio, FAU, and ULM on the road for the other 3 games and I only see us beating Monroe on the road.

It's not that we have easy teams left on the schedule....its that most of them are on the road, which is where Bustle coached teams have struggled since he got here.

    I agree with your assessment.

But I think we beat FAU, they seem to really suck this year. (It'll make up for the FIU loss last year).

    AND

IF we can't beat Monroe, on the road, at home or in Arkansas, we don't deserve to go bowling.

That's it, I've had enough of the BS on this board. IF WE GO 6-6 WE DON'T DESERVE TO BE IN A BOWL. No one does. You don't reward f'in mediocrity.

There are 6-6 teams in bowls every year.

Bustle has done all he could do. He was brought in to make our Football team respectable. He brought in players, and all our scholarships are filled for football. He is just not the guy who will get us to that next level.

I think one issue that concerns me is that can UL find a coach who will get us to that next level. Already bad enough that UL is becoming a coaching graveyard. There are 4 or 5 coaches who did not coach again after being the Head Coach for UL.

Doesn't mean they should be...there are way to many bowl games.

There are exactly as many bowl games as there should be.

Or to put it another way, there are exactly as many bowl games as there are.

UL Football Re: Conference & schedule

EVERYONE OF US before the season saw this schedule and thought, the first half is just BRUTAL, the second half is MUCH BETTER although with lots of road games. So we are where I thought we would be at this point of the season! If we win the games remaining that we can, then we should get around 6-6. We have played the tough teams already. Have you seen what everyone else still has to play left? For example, ULM is 3-3 and half way to bowl elgibility, but they may only win 1-2 games left on their schedule.
