Hey Zephyr, when you pull your nose out of Bustle's ass, why not give us some of your brilliant insight about what happened on Saturday. Just asking, you know, 'cause getting our butts handed to us 54-21 by a Western Kentucky team that had a 26 game losing streak on HOMECOMING is not my idea of progress. Hm, let's look at some statistics: Chris Masson, 16 of 34, 223 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. McGuire, 1-1, 32 yds, 11 Rush, 24 yds, 2 TDs. Yes, and I have no hope because Masson is soooo much better than McGuire. You would actually be funny to read if your credibility hadn't been totally destroyed by the sorry performance of the Cajuns on Saturday.
If I gave a care about what the members of the Ragin Pagin forum thought about my opnions that might mean something. Besides, after that wonderful performance this Saturday - on Homecoming mind you - to a team on a 26 game losing streak, they might be buying some of that back.
So as the saying goes, "If you don't support the cajuns, move to Baton Rouge".
The above quote and the entire post that it was included in are a prime example of why our football program is the way that it is. Personally, I believe that you can be a Cajun fan and supporter and at the same time not accept the mediocrity and cr*p that we have been fed in the disguise of a football program. I began supporting this football program in 1972. This is my 39th season. Have we made progress in this time? The answer is yes. But, at this rate I will have to live to be about 135 years old in order to see a respectable football program. Alas, I don't have that much time left on the earth. Changes have to be made. We will never generate the financial support necessary if we can't deliver a better product. I find it insulting that some people think that if I don't get in line and goose step with the "die hard" supporters that I should move to B.R. or some other place. If we accept mediocraty, then we will always have mediocraty. I desire more. It's time to hold people accountable.
I think that idea is based on 2 things.
People who don't support UL, AND are big supporters of the tiggers.
If you meet both requirements, then most of us here would love for you to hit the road. I'll help you pack.
If you're not one of these people, you'll get no argument from me.
Amen. Sounds like you are like me, in that you have supported the University as much as many with the if you don't like the cajuns move to Baton Rouge theory. In fact, I have have attended every game possible for the last few years in FB and _____ed the whole game. But at least i was there.
And that is the point. Unlike LSU A &M whose fans _____ when they have won 2 national championships in the last 8 years, because they lose a game, i feel it is OK to express my displeasure, in that despite the fact that i have been a fan and attended games since i was 7 years old for $25 as a member of the Young Ragin Cajun Club, all i yearn for is a winning program!!
I used to despise LSU as well, and grew up pulling against them, until I realized their success was good for our state. Now, i neither pull for them or against them, but i enjoy watching a team that wins football games more than they lose.
And yearn for the day when we can say the same.
Amazingly impressive how you can backtrack after the fact to prove your point. Awesome. if you think that I have a Ricky Bustle hard on, you're completely ignorant. I try to look at things as rationally as possible. I agree that coaches sometimes take way too much heat for poor performances and vice versa but last Saturday was a breaking point. What happened was a complete team fizzle and lack of sack brought to the stadium while playing a multi-year winless team. However, your stats are quite useful in proving your point...Sure. Maybe you can instill some insight into your man love for McGuire, or maybe your just kissing some serious butt to avoid getting whipped by his dad in fear of saying something negative. However, if you would have seen or produced the numbers overall from this year or from Masson's previous two games, you wouldn't have much of an argument. That one completed and attempted pass really breaks the bank on reliability. Keep Trying.
