_ Do you even watch the games? This team is playing very hard and leaving it all out on the field. I also question some of the gametime coaching decisions, but Bustle has his team ready to play each week. That is hardly grounds for a mid-season firing.
Lets let the season play out. IMO it is bowl game or bust for Bustle. Nothing should be done with a coaching decision until our bowl picture is known. _

The kids are playing their hearts out and I certainly commend them for that. But what games are you watching? Bustle has his team ready to play in the first half ONLY. We play great first halves, then come out in the second half of just about every game and lay a big goose egg. I'm not suggesting firing him mid-season, but losing even one of the remaining 4 conference games vs. teams that are in the bottom 10% of college football should be alarming. Among those 4 teams, there are only 6 wins and 3 of those are with one team, ULM. We lost to a 2 win FIU team last year that kept us out of a bowl game. 6 wins is an absolute minimum standard that needs to be surpassed this year. I don't have much confidence given our injuries and second half coaching of beating Ohio and Ole Miss. As you said, bowl game or bust. We won't know that until the season is over, or maybe sooner if we lose one of those 4.

That to me is my biggest argument against bustle because I've seen twice this year (MT and UGA) a team that was not ready to play the game. He makes some bonehead decisions during the game occasionally, but for the most part, his biggest drawback is not being able to get his team to focus on each and every game, and this is a problem thats been going back for years, look at FIU last year, FAU or Troy the year before, Mcneese in 2007, MT and ULM at home in 2006. in each of those cases except for Mcneese, a win in any of those 5 games and we go to a bowl game.

_ Puh-lease! This is the same arguement you guys use every time, and probably why it's taken so long to make a change. Who are we going to get to replace him? If Bustle is so great, how did we get HIM here? You sell the Cajuns short. The money is no draw, I'll give you that, but ever hear of Kyle Whittingham? No, I'm not saying Whittingham would ever come here. What I am saying is that nobody had ever heard of him before, he was a daddy's boy coordinator at Utah who's previous coaching experience was as a D-coordinator at Idaho State. Or Jim Leavitt who was a LB coach and DC as Kansas State for 5 years before becoming head coach at South Florida - and doing a fine job there. Point is, sometimes you have to take a flyer on someone and hope he works out. If not, you move on. Problem here is you wind up with a Jesse Evans, hang on to him when he's clearly in over his head because you figure you can't get anyone else and then you're disappointed. It's called trial and error - you should try it some time. You were given a chance to actually defend the lunacy that was your first post to come up with a list of high school coaches and you actually wanted to say that Jesse Evans was "In over his head"? Have you ever heard of Todd Dodge? He was arguably the most successful high school coach in the country and his record is less than stellar at NT.

_ Inexcusable! When are you Bustle supporters ever going to realize that Bustle will never get us to the next level. Tonight was the perfect example. Why is Bustle so enamored with Chris Masson? McGuire is clearly the superior quarterback, he had two TD's tonight while Masson struggled. McGuire made one mistake running into one of his own backs and Bustle yanked him. No confidence in McGuire. And WHY? Masson is a H.S. quarterback at best. What's all the more puzzling was that Bustle was at one time a highly regarded QB coach at VT. I have never been this upset with a Cajuns loss. Now some of you may say, well they played all 4 quarters. SO? SO WHAT? They lost, and losing to a team that turned the ball over 6 - count 'em, 6 times - well, that's just dumb. _

Thank you somebody agrees with me. 1...2...3...4 Rickey Bustle out the door!!!

So we wait... and then the answer is... well we cant fire him now because it will kill recruitin....

Fire him TODAY........ bite the bullet... start your search and get it done... this is NEVER an easy thing and it is NEVER good time... but sometimes you have to make tough decisions to improve...

I hate to sound like I'm going off topic I am especially tired of Rickey Bustle going into these "money games" and having his team go to mid-field pull down their pants and take it _____,especially against LSU!!! Mcneese St. is what Division 1AA and they managed to put up 10 points against LSU we can't even do that!!! Bustle makes no adjustments as evident with his unwavering faith in Orkeys Auriene, who could'nt cover a newborn baby with a blanket. Like many on this board i'm not understanding the whole Masson over McGuire debacle.

Yep McNeese, and I come from an era where we hated them, came into Tiggggger Stadium and said we are going to not be intimidated... Into the 6th ranked team, with a Freshman QB and did not get embarrassed... While we went into a lower level SEC (this year) stadium and got totally embarrassed...

yet we are told "All is fine... we might win 6 games".....

I don't like this decision anymore than you, but I agree firing Coach Bustle is best for the athletes, university, and community. I wish him good luck, but Louisiana expects better. Plus, I deserve to have my RCAF donation go towards paying a Coach to produce winning seasons, Bowl games, and compete for conference championships.

I'm almost to the Robert Lee point with Rickey. If we lose to WKU, it'll be the last game I go to while Bustle is coaching. I know, "good riddance" "you're not a real fan" "yadda yadda"
