Im pretty sure the Coaches would not let him play if it were this severe. Where are the stitches? and why does he not make any statement on this.

Masson would be the hero of the moment if his recievers had caught all his well thrown balls tonight. And as far as I can tell they have been.

Some of you are starting to sound like the fanbase to the east in your criticism of players.

You're mommy must have been a big believer in "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."

What does that matter? I never said Chris was a bad quarterback, he just gets jumpy in the pocket and that's a fact. If you can't take any criticism of your baby boy, then don't read message boards. I think Chris actually is a good passer and the victim of bad receivers for the most part.

I'm bummed you called all of us out because a couple of people criticized Chris. Here I sit, looking at my little gut, drinking a cold beer, steadily losing my hair, over 40, buying season tickets and giving money to RCAF... so a bunch of young guys can have fun in college and play football... and you cut me down to the bone in a one big sweep. It just ain't right.

Thanks for your service to our country. We aren't all that bad if you get to know us. Have a better day.

Criticism is part of being a D-1 athlete.

The bottom line is this: Christian has a staph infection that spread throughout several parts of his body. The infection was cut out on Thursday without any kind of sedative and he is going against doctors orders just so that he can play. Please stop questioning Chris' toughness because your analysis is both ridiculous and meritless. Last time I checked, NFL and college players alike routinely sit out of games so that they can let their staph infections heal in a timely fashion. The severity of the infection is far worse than you jokers on here know, so please quit with your arm chair BS. I'm sick and tired of "fans" disrespecting Christian on this website and will no longer stand for such petty, trivial banter from a body of individuals who purport to be men.

And just in case any of you knucklehead's have the remote fascination of sizing me up, I am a combat veteran of both Afghanistan and Iraq and have earned both the Bronze Star w/ Valor Device and the Purple Heart. So please do me a favor and spare me any potential "tough southern cajun" bravado. The lot of you have either a. never had the testicular fortitude to actually face adversity or b. lack the cognitive faculties to comprehensively analyze football. Step back for a second and look at this story for what it is: Christian and the rest of this team are killing themselves on a week-to-week so that a bunch of fat, bald, 40-something year old men can drink cold beer and watch football on Saturday afternoons just because they have nothing else going for them. _
Woa, calm down dude. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, critics will be out there for almost anything you do if you're in the public eye. With that said, while I agree to a certain extent with the above poster, I don't agree with him totally, he doesn't like to take a hit, and to some extent thats true, and its hard to see after we watched guys like Desormeaux, Babb, and Mcguire the last few years who have been the kind of guys who would run with reckless abandon. Not being a running QB was my knock on him for a while because I didn't think he was effectively a good enough passer to make up for it, but the past few weeks he has definitely matured into a very good drop back passer, spreading it out and essentially turning us into a passing offense for the first time in years, but I don't think I'll ever think that he is a running QB or someone who will look for a hit like the the guys I mentioned earlier.

With that said, you can debate without calling out all people who have been critical of Chris, remember, if it weren't for the Alumni, boosters, RCAF members, and Season Ticket holders (and some of those people have been critical of him as well), he wouldn't be receiving a scholarship, and allowed to go to a good 4 year university and get a quality education. Just enjoy when Chris does well, and please try to avoid taking the criticism to seriously (which I would assume is difficult for someone so close to you, be it brother, cousin, son ect.)

As a fellow relative of a player, try to ignore the criticism on this board, it will only ____ you off. Try not to reply, I know it is hard, I stop myself almost daily. Just click off the site and relax. We know how hard the boys work and I know Chris well and he is a great young man.
