2002 Origin Story for the UL Hand Sign

Im working on a concept to get some kind of hand sign adopted by UL. UL has nothing and needs something.

I have two concepts in mind, there is a third.

(1) I Love You hand sign

(2) Two hands each making an L making a U.

(3) One L for Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns. This has been suggested to Gerald Hebert but for me it reads Loser.

I suggest UL adopt this hand, sign wholesale, I spent Spring day showing a bunch of involved students and players how to do the " I Love UL" hand sign. I'm going to do the same thing for Media Day when we interview the football players.

I can picture a Hook-em-Horns type tradition with the second picture. It would be cool at the ESPN game if everyone held up their arms and did your UL sign with their hands. How can I get my hands on a sticker of each? The announcers might think the croud was saying I love you to them, so what, we can't go wrong.

My Media Day efforts paid off.

As the game started CC gives the "I Love UL" signs that I recommended to him at Media Day.

ps I didn't recommend both hands up in the air that is CC's ingenuity.
