Thread: Good morning Cajun fans - we've been Ricky Bungled again

Take what you want from the Cowboys' underwhelming first halves -- they've trailed by 14 to Texas A&M, seven to Troy and four tonight against the Ragin' Cajuns. Who knows if it'll continue? They got the job done tonight, won big, and you probably won't hear much about this game the rest of the season from anyone. You had to figure the superior talent and conditioning of the Cowboys would take over against a low-level Sun Belt opponent, and that's what we saw.

These are the words from ESPN Big 12 blog,"against a low level Sun belt opponent" and you guys just sit and take this year after year for 9 years of Bustle. The _ _ _ cant take us to where we want to be! Get rid of the skunkhead!

Sorry guys. I honestly didn't mean for another fire bustle thread to start. I just thought the title read something like, ESPN 2 analyst says the sky is blue.

I was completely impressed with the first half. Lead 21-17 at halftime is great. Then reality kicked in and the rickey bustle company lived up to expectations. 0 half time adjustments, corrections, etc. Yes safety help on 81 who was kicking Auryiene's ass all game is very helpful and even though he probably would have still caught passes he wouldnt have dominated as much as he did.

They noticed how big their receivers were compared to our DBs so they started playing more screens. whats worse is we didnt pick this up for the most part getting linebacker help and attacking the flats to deplete their screen after screen.

Let Gauthier throw the ____ing ball you pathetic excuse for a coach!!!! He got to throw one ball, To a wide open blocking full back who honestly has bricks for hands. Not the best choice of play you virginian dip ____

Once Masson starts throwing intentional grounding after intentional grounding (has to be leading the NCAA in this category ....if there even is one) then pull his ass and put in a QB that wants to throw it to receivers. Masson played a hell of a game but those penalties kill us and are unnecessary

on 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1 open up the playbook and stop running the same play eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevery time your in that situation. It is so predictable and will not work anymore once you have reached the 3rd or 4th quarter, because THE OTHER COACHES HAVE MADE ADJUSTMENTS AND KNOW ITS COMING!!

Keep James Butler and Darryl Surgent in the games, Just like Spikes and Walker, Just cause they are freshman they are obviously better talent then the sorry ass butter finger receiver upperclassmen you have on the field. Put in players that produce big plays and you can count on.

3rd and 30 and you ____ing shuffle pass??? shuffle pass wow what a pathetic play call, In case you haven't notice our offensive line is not the best in the Sun Belt much less NCAA and we have been hitting big pass completions all game but instead of throwing it pass the sticks or atleast attempting to with a fade route of some sort you throw a 3 to 4 yard shuffle pass and hope for the best. wtf is going through your mind at this point??? Im so tired of this backward ass retarded logic. give me a break.

and finally Dont let the players get so emotionally involved to where they give up once they get down a TD or 2. If they would have kept that fighting mentality going into the 4th they could have fought hard enough to be back in the ball game being down only 2 scores going into the 4th. But it was clear that they simply gave up and let OK St. and so far every opponent we have played on our schedule rack up points and out score us.

Bustle you want your answer to what happens in the 2nd half.
You and your coaching staff make NO ADJUSTMENTS EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR and we are sick of seeing it.

I thought we came out with a good gameplan but we failed to adjust to try to slow down their offenses in the second half. I think Bustle is done after this year, looking at the schedule I'm seeing 5-7.

So getting beat 34-14 vs. MTSU isnt a spanking either cause it wasnt more than 28 points it was only 20 points.
So allowing 54 points by the opposing team isnt a spanking, just a good show of offense and lack of defense. Are you serious. the people in this forum amaze me....

    First Half, Great football
    Second Half, We got SPANKED

I didn't read your whole post, but I read the criticism of the 3rd and 30 play call. That's kinda ridiculous to question almost ANY play call at 3rd and 30. It's virtually unconvertable.

Seriously folks, can we at least be slightly more discerning when it comes to our hindsight playcalling? I understand that this coaching staff isn't made up of offensive geniuses, but they're not complete idiots.

on any 3rd and long he always goes short of the sticks. yes 3rd and 30 is pretty much unconvertable but you can still take a chance.

If we would have the lead at this point i can understand the shuffle pass, but not if your down by 2 or 3 scores, thats just rediculous

I'm not trying to completely knock the coaching staff. I loved the gameplan in the first half, but at some point this year, we're going to have to play a good second half also if we expect to make it to a bowl. _
We are weak in the defensive backfield. Our special teams suck, and no one knows how to tackle. # 2 was like a kindergartner trying to play highschool ball. He's a freaking joke.

We can't kick off past the 10 or 11 yd line and our kick off teams get shredded. That's poor coaching.

This team will not have a winning season because of the above and lastly because we never make any adjustments at half time that really contribute to game changes.

We need to fire Bustle and hire Bowden away from North Alabama.

I have to disagree with you on Auriene. The guy gave a really good effort. Expecting him to single cover and shut down #81 for most of the night is ridiculous.

It always amazes me that those who complain and chastise have no strategy to offer, other than firing someone.

As for the band critics. The band is much larger this year, and sound great!! Hopefully, they can grow larger and have more brass instruments.

My hearing is not the best, but our band overwhelmed the OSU. Granted OSU travelling band was much smaller. I could barely detect sound when they did play, but I had no problem with the sound emanating from our band.
