And I aslo like the point someone brought up eariler that since he isnt a offensive or defensive coordinator, maybe he will stay out of his OC's and DC's way and let them do their job. one thing is for sure, with deforest we wont have as bad as a kickoff return/ kickoff coverage as we had this past year. _
You mean no more sky kicks that get returned to the 48 yard line? Darn.

We should have just did the onside kick every kick off, we recovered 60% of the time and if not they would be on the 40 anyway lol

From what I remember he was a fan favorite during his days playing here. Based on the prior info it looks pretty obvious that Joe is a lot more than a special teams coach.

I think he would come into this job with a lot of energy. Could be a good recruiter and based on his position is probably a good manager.

I guess the million dollar question is his ability with the X's & O's.

I'm a little more open to him than I was early on but like what I see in a number of the candidates.

In track, the only guy I want with UL ties is or was an Olympic coach.
Find me a football coach with UL ties and that kind of resume, and I will reconsider.

I guess my point for chiming in on that is that there is no fast rule about ties to UL. I would not be willing to rule anyone in or out...solely based on whether they did or did not have ties to UL.

just food for thought: what if, his inexperience (or whatever we should call it) with the X's & O's could be an ADVANTAGE for us. It MAY allow our OC's and DC's do their job more effectively if he stays out of their way. It may not work like that idk i'm not a coach

Besides we should go undefeated next year because the opponents would have no film to study on either side of the ball

    LOL

Good thing UL didn't open the season vs ULM. With no film on them, they would have made a bowl.

It was interesting today on Birds Eye View.

An early caller endorsed Joe DeForest and for much of hour the rest of the callers followed suit.
