_ Wow pages and pages of disagreement. Look, I understand people are having fun and that's what it's all about, but you have to look outside the box. I guarantee that over half of the tailgating population (60-75%) think that this dance is over-the-top ridiculous and we're only talking about our localized tailgating, not ESPN's audience. I know you guys in the Krewe love to cook. Why not do it big with lots of cajun cooking and have the cameras focus in on these positives for our community and team instead of ESPN making a mockery of the weirdest looking roosta dance accompanied with an extremely weird and overly done thriller dance. We tailgate about 4 spots away and we notice that everyone around us thinks and feels the same way. Do it every tailgate if it's the absolute funnest thing you guys do each week. Long story short, it doesn't have to be Nationally Televised. Continue feeding everyone, playing the 30,000 song playlist, etc etc. I love tailgating just like everyone else, maybe do some zydeco cajun dancing (just leave the silly costumes out of it).

I know NFL teams have weird people dressing up weird ("Whistle Man" for the Saints, "Dawgs in the Dog Pound" for the Browns, etc, etc....) That's the NFL, these teams are established and not looked at on a small scale. We already get laughed at for the dumbest crap. Don't add one more.

Whether the dance is stupid or not....(I am not a part of Krewe de Chew)....who gives a ____?? Do you really have that much self esteem issues that you are worried what a bunch of people nationwide thinks of their fans?? I really dont care if they make an ass of themselves on National TV, that doesn't speak for my actions and I don't see the importance to call them out on this forum.

The fans can cheer for the football team. that is about it, they can not help them win the game in any other way. This is a football game, not a Tailgating game, once the viewers (if actually televised) see the participants of this dance being participants of the age of 35 + I am sure they will conclude that this is not students of the university that partake in this.

If I were you I'd worry about being publicly known for the football team, not because of some silly dance they happen to do under a tailgating tent. The Krewe went the extra mile to invite outsiders to their festivities. If you don't want them to see it then invite them to your area instead and entertain Them in some other way i guess as defense from the Krewe Tent??

A) I'd love to see where that "statistic" came from.

B) Isn't is supposed to be ridiculous? Isn't that the point people? It's to have fun? ALSO, if the visit from Kent State proved anything, they will likely be taken aback by the food as well.

It should be noted that we don't have much control over what ESPN wants to see. And we're certainly not going to NOT do the dance just because ESPN (the bastion of what's acceptable? really? ) is in town.

This is our house. We run it the way we want to. Again, if you don't like it, that's perfectly fine. But there are plenty who do.

Good point about winning the game, too. HOWEVER, I would say that we have fun before the game, win or lose......

.....Does make it that much sweeter when we win, though...

Dude, talking about the game is depressing! OSU is a comparative juggernaut, and we've been playing poorly.

Plus, this year we've already seen what happens when we play a below average BCS team. It was 55-7.

I'm looking forward to tailgaiting, enjoying some great weather, and watching my favorite team.

Hopefully something crazy happens.

Since we are talking about perception, let's get our AD to ask ESPN to call us LOUISIANA and not UL Laf or U LA LA or LA Laf or Louisiana-Lafayette or Lafayette. OK State has us on their website as Louisiana. The lady at ESPN who writes articles on the non-AQ schools call us LOUISIANA. It is time for ESPN to do so now on national tv and change that once and for all. We may not have a better opportunity to do so than with them on campus.
