Lots of sunshine and very dry weather will stay with Acadiana into the weekend as a series of cool fronts push through this weekend. A cool front will cross Acadiana Friday freshening our northerly winds and helping to bring our temperatures down by a good 5 degrees this weekend. A secondary front will traverse the area later Sunday insuring even cooler conditions to start next week.
After a reletively warm Friday, highs this weekend will drop into the lower 80s while overnight lows dip back down into the mid-50s. A secondary surge of cool air arriving late Sunday with drop our highs closer to the upper 70s for early next week while overnight lows dip to there coolest levels this fall season. Morning lows Monday and Tuesday morning will be near 50 degrees while portions of Central Louisiana may see morning starts in the upper 40s!
Unfortunately with the very dry weather pattern the Moderate Drought will likely worsen across the region with a high fire danger developing this weekend into early next week with breezier north winds and very low dew points.
Meanwhile the Mid-Atlantic through the Northeast will be threatened by by torrential tropical downpours and flooding through Friday with conditions improving as the same cool front sweeps across the region this weekend.
The tropics look to stay rather active in the vicinity of the Caribbean with more flooding conditions likely and the possibility of a couple of tropical systems, but the current upper level pattern will likely keep the Gulf of Mexico shut down from any significant systems.
