Thread: Steadily improving

  1. UL Football Steadily improving

Lance Kelley knows there's a fine line between learning from your mistakes and becoming obsessed by them.

The junior safety leads the UL Ragin' Cajuns in tackles with 20 after a career-high 11 last week against Middle Tennessee, and by all accounts continues to improve at his position.

That sucks for us.... He is definitely not the best at his position

I can have 10 years of experience in a job and still be a crappy worker...

Your safety should NEVER lead the team in tackles; this is a DL & LB problem more than a LK problem IMO.

Looks like we've found the biggest problem. I've talked bad about LK's tackling the past few weeks (it is BAD most of the time) but the real problem is that the offense is getting to the second level so easy. Yes he leads the Cajuns in tackling, but he's not flying into the backfield like a Roman Harper.

That was precisely my first thought reading this article. Your linebackers should lead your team in tackles without a doubt.

To me, a safety leading the team in tackles is equivalent to a fan sitting in your center field bleachers leading your team in fly balls caught.

You guys are right but leading the team in tackles can get you drafted.

Tillman had 100 in a 3 win season.

Lance is on pace for 80

Of course Ike Taylor was drafted with only 46 tackles so . . .
