The challenge that North Texas coach Todd Dodge issued his team was clear: Gain at least four yards on first down.

Coach Dodge said that the Mean Green did that 57 percent of the time last week against Florida Atlantic. By the end of the game UNT had rushed 54 times for 257 yards and had the ball for more than 36 minutes in a 21-17 win over Florida Atlantic

I am so glad NT made this move last week, because I'm not so confident Bustle would have been able to make in game adjustments to stop the run, not being on film and all. I mean FAU must have been caught completely off guard.

This reminds me of a UL basketball conference tourney game in the Cajun Dome a few years back where, I think it was Troy totally changed their game plan over night and beat the much favored Robert Lee team.

That was an incredible coaching job by Troy coach Don Maestri. If I remember right, the game plan was implemented in about two days. Troy made the Cajuns look horrible defensively that night by spreading them out, driving to the hoop and making quality shots late in the shot clock.

Then what does that say about our staff if a guy came up with a better game plan in two days than we came up with in two weeks?

You're missing the point I think. The Cajuns prepared for two weeks with what they saw on film, and when Troy arrived they didn't look anything like what the Cajuns had prepared for and therefore caught them off guard

Edit: I think you are maybe comparing UL basketball to football and what the Cajuns did against middle tennessee. I can agree on the point that Bustle did a terrible job with preparation

You are right about getting caught off guard, and the way it happened a poor showing was to be expected.

I was focusing more on those coaches ability to change their game plan on the fly, giving their team the advantage.

I was thinking with Georgia coming up with a completely new defense (a step back situation) Bustle could have (over the summer) flipped the advantage and given Georgia an offense look that they were not prepared for.

You should look more at how long it took for the Cajuns to make adjustments to combat Troy's offensive game plan. It was a great move by Troy, and the Cajuns never really countered it effectively.
