Three ousted Lafayette Housing Authority commissioners say they're going back to work for HUD.
A district judge decided former commissioners Joe Dennis, Leon Simmons and John Freeman should remain board members until their appeals process is completed.
It's all summed-up an 80-page judgement. After reading the judgement, former city attorney and Housing Authority board member Donald Fuselier says there's still no clear answer.
"It's all subject to interpretation," Fuselier said. "What does the judge's order mean?"
According to Joe Dennis, it means he's still on the Board of Commissioners and he says he's going back to work on Thursday.
"If I'm still on, I'm still responsible for doing certain things." Dennis says, "one of those things is to receive that audit."
An audit Dennis plans to look at for the first time on Thursday when he's calling a special board meeting between himself and the four eligible board members- including Donald Fuselier.
However, the meeting may be nixed. Fuselier says if he doesn't come, Dennis and the other board members won't have enough commissioners to meet quarum standards.
That is, in order to have a quarum, at least half of the necessary seven board members need to be present.
Currently, there are four- enough to meet standards but Fuselier says he's not going.
"There are a lot of issues of whether they're members of the board or not," Fuselier said. "I've decided I'm not going to any meetings until we get these things decided."
Decisions that won't be made until November 8th.
