Agree, let it die, NO other University in US has this NICKNAME. It sells itself and it identifies us and ONLY US.

I can't think of a single other state that would look good on a helmet.

Only Louisiana is shaped like the first letter of the schools name.

I like that helmet very much, but my very favorite is the tri-fleur:

I much prefer pictures over words. I love the "UL" logo on baseball caps, but the picture shown with the interlocking UL doesn't look right. It needs to bigger, for one thing.

Why am I seeing things no one else sees? I see Ragin' Cajuns on the University of Louisiana helmet too. I guess we see what we want to see lol

I think the worst name is Stanford Cardinal not Cardinals but Cardinal for the color..Plain dumb.


Tulsa Golden Hurricane is another bad one. They must not know their geography. How many hurricanes have pummeled Oklahoma???

USC's colors are cardinal and gold- not red, maroon or burgundy. Is Stanford somehow based off that? I thought they were blue?


I have always been partial to "Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns" and buy everything I see that has that on it.

Baseball has done a great job of marketing themselves as such and it makes us look like a force to be reckoned with by all.

USC's colors are cardinal and gold- not red, maroon or burgundy. Is Stanford somehow based off that? I thought they were blue?

Stanford was originally the Indians and were one of the first places to go PC and change to a completely neutral, inoffensive nickname. (Among others Dartmouth was also the Indians and changed to "the Green" and iirc Syracuse has dropped the "men" from their name and are now just "the Orange.") As a result, Stanford doesn't have a true mascot - and in addition to having a lame nickname they have the worst mascot in college sports, "the Tree." Yes, they have a smiling, dancing tree as a mascot.

As far as the choice of color, I think it's just coincidence that USC and Stanford both use cardinal. SC's colors are rooted in school history and crossed over to sports. Aside from both being private universities, there's no relation between the two schools.
