Three factors have meshed together to breathe life into the Lafayette Amateur Hockey Association, a boys' youth hockey organization. The creation of a Tier II National Tournament by USA Hockey certainly helped. Next, the return of pro hockey to Lafayette via the Louisiana IceGators, who play in the Southern Professional Hockey League. Finally, the Internet.
Each of these factors has combined to entice boys to become interested in hockey. This season, LAHA will field travel teams at the Midget, Bantam, Peewee, Squirt and Mite levels. LAHA travel teams are known as the Louisiana Junior IceGators.
