I totally agree and dont understand why its so hard to realize how much better and how much more heart Cooper Gerami has than Lance Kelley. I would start Gerami over Kelley anyday but i think it has something to do with ignorantly starting the seniors over the underclassmen like this his HS. Kinda like making Shankle the starter at the beginning of the year when he is clearly not the best RB on the team. Just goes back to horrible coaching decisions.
Our offensive lineman are all "VERY SLOW". They can not move.
Why was our defensive line standing up prior to the snap, why weren't they in the normal stance?
What happened to all the great defensive lineman were have recruited--McCray was supposed to be a beast, he isn't even playing, Pryor's not playing.
We did not touch their quarterback all night. It starts with our defensive coordinator and our defensive line coach. They are terrible!
I see players making bad plays coming to the sideline and the coach's are patting them on the azz---The coaching staff does not demand excellence from our players.
We did not play very physical last night, we played soft. Is this coaching or talent?
The last coach that I saw that had the fire was Jenkins (now at Rutgers)
Well, now he is the head coach for Bethune-Cookman, an HBCU, in Daytona,FL. He was an awsome recruiter, evaluator of talent and he also got the most of his talent. He would also tell it like it was and not how you wanted to hear it. He recruited some of our better receivers....Chery,Smith,Green.
Do we have any sacks this year? Wasnt the defensive coordinator's claim to fame his defenses ability to sack the QB?
Your right, our recruiting sucks. We have had more walk-on players become 2-3 year starters than we need. From Bill Sampy, to Derek "Sip" Keys, to Antwain Zanders.Nothing aganist those guys, but that says a lot about your recruiting. No, we can not compete with the SEC for talent, but everything else should be fair game. Our facilities are second only to LSU in the state. We should have a gate around Louisiana, East Texas and West Mississippi. Good post Slappy
The sad and disappointing thing in that is did Chery or Smith really achieve their full potential here? Both were great, but neither were able to really show how good they were because of poor play design. Also, how many players have we had that we all knew didn't achieve their full potential because of that same problem. I know that Hall davis comes to mind immediately.
At camp this summer, the staff announced they were not interested in any interior offensive linemen, only tackles. The centers and guards were shuffled off to the side and showed no interest at all. Now, not only were there some very good centers and guards at the camp, but all those guys now feel they had their time wasted and went back home to bad-mouth UL to their teamates and coaches. In the meantime, some of these guys our staff brushed off are being offered by schools like Ark St., La Tech, Oklahoma State, Tulane, Tulsa, Miss. St., Southern Miss etc. Its just pure stupidity.
YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like your thinking. Spread the D out and then put in a quarterback that runs north and south? The combination of the current qb and the men that endorse him week in and week out are, to blame.
