    Big plays and a steady running game by Middle Tennessee proved to be the difference as the Blue Raiders defeated Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns, 34-14, on Saturday evening at Cajun Field.

    MT (2-2, 1-0 Sun Belt) used two long-scoring plays - a 62 yard touchdown pass and 74 yard rushing touchdown - in the third quarter to open a 20-point edge by quarters end. The defense held the Ragin' Cajuns (1-2, 1-1 Sun Belt) to 140 yards on 39 plays in the second half.

    Logan Kilgore completed 21-of-36 passes for 207 yards and Phillip Tanner rushed for 104 yards. Eleven different receivers combined to catch passes from Kilgore.

    For UL, Chris Masson completed 16-of-32 passes for 192 yards. Kevis Streeter was the top rusher for the Cajuns with 63 yards and Javone Lawson had a team-best 53 yards receiving.
