We've played a total of 3 (OK, I'll go for 4 with one good quarter between the 1st and 2nd with Middle) quarters of football in 3 games. This game was not fun after our defense had a great three and out for Middle's opening series. Fumble after that and little to be happy about thereafter. No QB play, no pass protection (ineffective in picking up the blitz), dropped passes, bad passes. Inconsistent offensive play calling. When something works, why not keep at it until it's stopped?? Poor left defensive side; picked apart and run over and around all night. Very poor tackling. Nothing special about special teams. At least we got to see a great punter and kicker. Shame they weren't ours. Got to see a coaching staff using their talent (can you imagine playing Middle tonight with their good QB rather than their slightly injured 2nd string guy). Shame our staff can't do it.
Likely reluctantly go to OK state game as I've talked some friends to come for game and Festivale but, Lord, that will likely do it.
I am really excited to hear what is happening in B-ball. Plus our Soccer and V-ball teams seem to be doing well along with Fall Golf. And then Softball isn't too far away.
And Jay says this one was disappointing. So was the sinking of the Titanic. Of course, we can turn things around and finish 6-6. Except FIU is playing well. UNT ain't over till it's over. We have trouble with FAU. Troy, like Middle, own us. ULM is not real great but they gave the Hogs fits for a while. We've given no one fits.
Okay. I'll shut up. Left in 4th Q. And I never used to leave games. Started leaving even Basketball games under Lee. Guess I'm setting higher standards now with age.
