  1. UL Football Local stars fill Louisiana All-Star football roster

FLORIDA — The Florida-Louisiana High School Football All-Star Classic will be held on Saturday, June 12 in Orlando, Fla. and will feature several players from the Acadiana area.

Among the players on the Louisiana roster from the Acadiana area are defensive end Alton Boudreaux of Lafayette High (Texas A&M), punter Brad Dalfrey of Carencro (LSU), Notre Dame’s linebacker J.T. Casanova (McNeese St.), offensive lineman Ben Leonards (UL Lafayette) and Catholic High of New Iberia’s quarterback Michael Desormeaux (UL Lafayette), kicker Stokka Brown and defensive lineman Josh Mitchell (UL Monroe).

Boudreaux and Dalfrey are considered to be two of the top three players on the team from Louisiana, with the third player being receiver Mark Dillard of Glen Oaks, who has signed with Louisiana Tech.

Two other UL Lafayette signees Parkview Baptist linebacker Brenton Burkhalter and John Curtis offensive lineman Matt Luwe will also play in the game for team Louisiana.

The game is scheduled to being at 7 p.m. at the Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex Field D.

UL Football UL Ragin Cajuns Football is Giving Fans Reason to Smile!

I found two good reasons to smile about the future success of our Ragin Cajuns football program. First of all, we will be on an exclusive ESPN2 Friday Night football game. Talk about some national coverage. Let`s get a big crowd there and win! Second thing that makes me smile, is that Offensive lineman Ben Leonards (UL signee), Catholic High of New Iberia’s quarterback Michael Desormeaux (UL signee), Parkview Baptist linebacker Brenton Burkhalter (UL signee) and John Curtis offensive lineman Matt Luwe (UL signee) have been selected to play on the Louisiana team for the Florida-Louisiana High School Football All-Star Classic, that will be held on Saturday, June 12 in Orlando, Fla. That tells me that Bustle is bustling up and getting some good talent from the area. Our team`s gonna be good, and this will hopefully draw some local support as well.

    Geaux Cajuns!

Think of all the people that will be at sports bars across the country on that Friday night when we are on ESPN2. Most of the TVs at those bars will have ESPN2 on. A lot of people will catch what SBC football has to offer.

  5. UL Football

Things are definetly looking up for us. I think this is the season we start turning the corner. The UL vs. NT game gives us an opportunity to showcase our talent and the Sunbelt on national television. I swear this news just makes me more pumped for the upcoming season.

It would be absolutely huge, I agree. I hope the university and the community and the newspaper really get behind it and support our team and draw a big crowd. Geaux UL Ragin Cajuns!

That would be nice, I for one just hope we don't get blownout. A tough showing and a close game is about all we should expect.

"A tough showing and a close game is about all we should expect."

I think that is the least we should expect or settle for. Its time to expect to see a vast improvement from the team this season. I think they are capable of it.

When did Ben Leonards sign with us? Good news about Desormeaux and Burkhalter and even better news if we signed Leonards.
