Thread: KPA Auction 2010

  1. Ragin' Cajuns Re: Own a Piece of History-72 hours left to bid

Wonderful! Thank you for bidding! Really enjoyed my visit to campus!!

All winning bids are tax deductible! Do your holiday shopping early at the UK-KPA Online Auction, lots of UL vintage memorabilia as well as some great autographed jerseys and items from current and not so current sports legends!

Wanted to bring everyones attention to one item in particular, a motorcycle helmet that belonged to UL student David Trosclair. At the end of August, David passed away unexpectedly, at the start of his senior year, he was an Exercise Science major. A memorial scholarship has been established in David's name, The David Trosclair Memorial Scholarship Fund. 100% of the funds raised on the motorcycle helmet owned by David, will be donated to the David Trosclair Memorial Scholarship Fund. David's mother, Mrs. Lamson and his sister Kathryn Weaver join us at the UL-KPA charity kick off event last week. I am working with them to organize future events at campus to raise funds for this scholarship. Will keep you all informed of what, when and where. Thank you in advance for your support! Our deepest sympathies go out to the Troclair family and the Kinesiology Department on the tragic loss of David.

  2. Ragin' Cajuns Re: View KPA Auction Kick Off Event Highlights

    Thank you!!!

Also a big thanks to the wonderful Ragin Cajun Athletic Network for all of their generous time, assistance and support of the Ul-KPA Charity Auction!

One of the highlights for me from the kick off event was when I introduced Dr. Ed Dugas, to Saints Hall of Famer Buford Jordan. Dr. Dugas and Mr. Buford reminisced about the McNeese vs UL college football games. Dr. Dugas has an amazing collection of UL history that he shared with us. Even the game day photo which showed the Ragin Cajuns beat McNeese. Mr. Jordan was quick to point out though, that he was recovering from knee surgery that game, his brother was his back up, Mr. Jordan went on to say if he had played in that game, the Ragin Cajuns might not have won! Great memories shared by everyone that day. So thrilled to have been a part of this event! Many UL items are up for auction and would make a great addition to any Ragin Cajun memorabilia collection! www.ul-kpa.org

Thanks again to all of the readers, writers and supporters of Ragin Pagin!!

    Newsworthy

  4. Ragin' Cajuns Re: Own a Piece of History-36 hours left to bid

Absolutely newsworthy, in fact, I just confirmed this is the ONLY scholarship that is offered to a Kinesiology student.

Mrs. Carol Trosclair Lamson, David's mother, told me that her goal, for this year, is to raise over $100,000 for the David Trosclair Memorial Scholarship Fund.

I have provided information to Sean Manual, from UL who videotaped some segments from the kick off event, KLFY Channel 10 anchor George Faust came out to our event with his camera crew and I am hoping that the student I met who took photographs sent them to the student paper and the advertiser, at least that is what he told me he was doing.

The Athletic Network has sent out email blasts and posted it on their website and of course we have the support and help of all of you at Ragin Pagin, which we are very grateful for!

If any of you has connections to the alumni association and can assist us in getting the word out to them, that would be fantastic. I have sent links and info to Christine Payton, to get a news story in the UL - e-news and quarterly UL magazine. I would love contact information please for local news editors to send this information to as well please. Dr. Campbell has been on local radio stations and television stations promoting this event and scholarship for the last few weeks. There is only a few days left on the auction, it ends Oct 7, we would be grateful for any and all assistance. We understand how everyone is crunched for time, if everyone passes on the links and info to at least one person, play it forward, it would help us out tremendously please. This auction and scholarship benefits the students at UL and is a great source of positive PR for the University. These students also spend countless hours serving as volunteers in the community helping local charities. I have volunteered alongside of them on many charity projects and am Very proud to be working with them all again. Thanks in advance for your support!!

Another great item up for auction are (2) VIP passes to the 2011 Maxwell Football Club Awards, March 4-5, 2011. Last March a huge group from Louisiana made the trip to Atlanta City, NJ for this black tie event. UL professor Dr. Brian Campbell and Ms Dayle Guillory along with students members of KPA had the time of their life!

UL Ragin Cajun Brian Mitchell posed for photographs and autographs with the LA krewe as did Superbowl MVP Drew Brees and Maxwell Award Winner Colt McCoy, Bednarik Winner Ndamakong Suh and football legends too... Great food in a beautiful venue, the Harrah's Hotel and Casino! Check out the auction item to view more highlights from that trip and take the time to bid on this priceless auction item in the UL-KPA charity online auction. All winning bids are tax deductible.
