Original One of a kind oil painting of Drew Brees and his son Baylen along with a one of kind original oil painting of Tracy Porter have been graciously donated to the KPA by reknown Crowly, Louisiana artst Robert Baxter.

An original one of a kind pencil sketch of Drew Brees and his son Baylen have been created and donated by University of Louisiana student Sarah Richard

The Drew Brees oil painting is framed with black matting that is autographed by Drew Brees and includes his Drew Brees Foundation holigram.
The Tracy Porter oil painting is framed with black matting that is autographed by Tracy Porter.
The Drew Brees pencil sketch is autographed by Drew Brees on the piece of artwork.

The KPA online auction will begin on Sept 27 and run through Oct 6, 2010. There will be a FREE Charity Auction Kick Off Party at the UL Alumni House on Sept 29 from 11-10pm where you will be able to view auction items, bid on silent auction items as well as a live auction. Other events for the day include:

Special Guest, Buford Jordan, New Orleans Saints Hall of Famer
* Live radio broadcast from KVPI from (1-3 pm)
* Live radio broadcast from ESPN1420 (3-7 pm)
* Come meet and play interactive games with the Louisiana Ghostbusters for all ages! (3-10 pm)
* Other activities to include a cake walk,inflatable obstacle course and many more!
* special demonstration by the UL athletic network (athletic alumni group) (5-6:30)
Live Music Performance by local band Money Wallet (Classic Rock/Current Rock/Party Music) (8:00-10pm)
* All you can eat chicken and sausage gumbo, Petes homemade BBQ Burgers, and many other food choices.
* PLUS a wide Variety of refreshments and drinks

ALSO:
* Tracy Porter Audio Broadcast Booth (You make the call of the biggest play in Saints Football History)
* Velocity Booth (how fast can you throw a baseball, softball, or football??)
* DJ all day with live band from 8-10

The KPA Auction will feature a Championship Game Worn Basketball Jersey of former UL Basketball Player Anna V. Petrakova! Below is a copy the letter Ms. Petrakova wrote about the game where she won gold on the Russian Team in the European Championship Game vs France. For more info on the auction :www.ul-kpa.org . "In the summer 2004 I participated in a Junior European Championship (U-20), which was held in France. My team Russia took Gold in that tournament. I was wearing the jersey under Number 14, which was the next available number since my favorite number 13 was already taken by someone else. I consider that shirt a lucky shirt because i wore it in the Championship Final - against France (the strongest opponent of the tournament as well as the home team). We won that day and it was a triumph of a Russian team. I had given this shirt as a present to my dear friend Ed Dugas sometime during my stay at UL. I knew Ed would enjoy the present because he likes things with history behind them. I also knew he would take good care of this very special shirt. In the summer of 2010, when I came to Louisiana for a visit, I had met up with Ed. He told me about the upcoming auction and asked my permission to use the shirt as an auction item. I agreed that the KPA auction is a good reason for my shirt to be given away, so I had put my signature on it. I hope it's a valuable item!"

Wanted to bring everyones attention to one item in particular, a motorcycle helmet that belonged to UL student David Trosclair. At the end of August, David passed away unexpectedly, at the start of his senior year, he was an Exercise Science major. A memorial scholarship has been established in David's name, The David Trosclair Memorial Scholarship Fund. 100% of the funds raised on the motorcycle helmet owned by David, will be donated to the David Trosclair Memorial Scholarship Fund. David's mother, Mrs. Lamson and his sister Kathryn Weaver join us at the UL-KPA charity kick off event last week. I am working with them to organize future events at campus to raise funds for this scholarship. Will keep you all informed of what, when and where. Thank you in advance for your support! Our deepest sympathies go out to the Troclair family and the Kinesiology Department on the tragic loss of David.

Also a big thanks to the wonderful Ragin Cajun Athletic Network for all of their generous time, assistance and support of the Ul-KPA Charity Auction!

One of the highlights for me from the kick off event was when I introduced Dr. Ed Dugas, to Saints Hall of Famer Buford Jordan. Dr. Dugas and Mr. Buford reminisced about the McNeese vs UL college football games. Dr. Dugas has an amazing collection of UL history that he shared with us. Even the game day photo which showed the Ragin Cajuns beat McNeese. Mr. Jordan was quick to point out though, that he was recovering from knee surgery that game, his brother was his back up, Mr. Jordan went on to say if he had played in that game, the Ragin Cajuns might not have won! Great memories shared by everyone that day. So thrilled to have been a part of this event! Many UL items are up for auction and would make a great addition to any Ragin Cajun memorabilia collection! www.ul-kpa.org
