I hate the M f'n pepper. I have sent very nice e-mails to both Scott Farmer and that idiot that was head of marketing (retired now or quit, whichever she is gone now) telling them that no one likes the pepper and our school colors are vermillion and white, not red/orange/yellow/black, but never got a response. That was 3 years ago. I did sit down with Scott Farmer last year to speak with him about this and other issues I had, and he basically agreed that the pepper needs to go and that the colors should be simplified back to vermillion and white (with a modest amount of black for uniforms as the players love black). However, he said that this was not at the top of his priority list, and I agree with him that raising money and putting a better product on all of the athletic fields is priority one. However, something needs to be done about these issues.

My personal vote is for the Bull Gator, but anything is better than what we have now.

Having a marketable product that generates revenue and helps create a better identity for the university should be a priority. Why can't this be addressed simultaneously with other issues? It appears to always be just one thing at a time and years go by before things like this are addressed.

I hate when we get beat 55-7. I hate that we have had a bad defense for 20 years. I hate when we hire worthless coaches and keep them on till their contract runs out. The pepper? I have a hard time getting the hate meter going (I mean the actual pepper, not the abomination of a mascot).

I'd like to see a Catahoula on the sidelines. Cayenne is just awful.

UL has the most valuable mascot habitat in the world. No reasonable amount of money could replace the oldest trees on campus which are standing for parts of three centuries.

I went by Cypress Swamp today and within :30 (seconds) I saw a BullGator, I would say I have seen them 90% of the times I have visited the campus swamp.

I have never seen a pepper or a dog.

Bullgator gets my vote. Catahoula is good too.

What is not good, is the toothy pepper.
