Arizona only beat Centenary 2-1 ???

I think they're ripe for the picking....

Arizona did have 11 hits, but couldn't scratch for any runs til later in the game. Centenary led 1-0 until the 6th inning, when Arizona tied the game. The Ladies only had 2 or 3 hits.

Geaux Ragin' Cajuns!!!! Beat the 'Cats!!!!

Arizona may have been tight like UL was, only we were problably tighter due to the Houston layover!! Lets hope so, UL needs to get to the world series!!!!!

Arizona got 11 hits, but was unable to string them together until the 7th inning. The biggest loss for Arizona was losing their #2 hitter Autumn Champion (.458) probably for the rest of the year. She landed awkwardly on her right leg as she rounded third and jumped in the air to celebrate the winning run crossing the plate. Losing a hitter hitting over .450 and who has been clocked at 2.6 sec to first is huge.

It should be a great pitching dual tomorrow. As a fan of great pitching, I can't wait to see it!

UL Softball Arizona Star could be out for rest of season.

I got this off the Arizona forum..

"I was at the game and the joyous comeback was followed by stunned silence as Autumn Champion feel to the ground after apparently tweaking her ankle and all you could hear in the stadium is Autumn screaming 'OW, OW" it was incredibly scary to say the least."

"The news just reported she is out for the regionals and very well the season. This is a huge loss. Crystal Farley will have to step up."

I hate it that Autumn Champion is hurt. I hope it's not as bad as it sounds.

I'll bet when Louisiana's Brooke Mitchell had her skull cracked and Louisiana lost two in a row, the victory wasn't quite as sweet for Texas A&M CC as it would have been if they had beaten Brooke.

Now I know losing a hitter (no mater how good) is not as huge as losing an ace pitcher, but still I would much rather have Autumn Champion in the lineup.

i think you are right on this, it should be a great great pitching dual. It could come down to a 2-0 or a 0-2 game like the one played earlier this year. This should be fun.

The best players/teams want to play the best players/teams that they can. In order to really prove you are the best, you must beat the best of the rest. Whenever a star player goes down, whether it is on your team or an opponents team, it is disappointing to every true softball fan.

As a UA fan, the most disappointing thing I've seen this year is a few of the ranked teams we have played did not always play their best pitcher against us. I know that some coaches like to keep their ace out of big games during the season so that their pitchers are an "unknown" should they meet the same opponent in the series, but I think that is bad for the sport, and not very good for their team either.

Autumn is a big loss for UA, but we are good enough to overcome that loss. If you are able to beat us, it will not be because Autumn couldn't play. It will be because you finally had the opportunity to show how good you are.

Good luck! (But not too good!!)
