Four locals were onboard a small plane that crashed in a residential area outside of Las Vegas Monday. The pilot, identified by family-members as 45 year old Douglas Touchet of Erath was killed in the crash. Touchet's wife, Susan was critically injured, their friends Randall and Tamika Savoy of Catahoula also sustained serious injuries.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor said the plane took off from Henderson Executive Airport shortly after 8 a.m. and was unable to gain altitude. Touchet tried to return to Henderson but crashed about two miles northwest of the airport.
