I see where your going, but Wilson was not a weekend starter untill the 4th SEC series that year. Regardless, it was a great game between two great teams. I couldn't have been happier back then as it was still possible to be fans of both schools!

  2. UL Baseball 2007: 20 things to love about Tigue

      M. L. "Tigue" Moore Field will open its gates for the 30th season as home for the UL baseball team today, but since the park opened in 1978 it's become more than just a baseball field.

It's become a place where friends and family gather, where tradition reigns and where good times are promised regardless of the final outcome.

Of course, it helps that the Cajuns have won almost 73 percent of the time they've gone between the lines at the "Tigue" (658-248), but most of the 718,725 that have passed through the park gates have enjoyed themselves nonetheless.

The reasons are many, but here's the top 20 reasons we love the "Tigue":

    #20 - The Roof People
Just to the right of the scoreboard in left-center field, there's a home that provides a panoramic view of the park for its family, once they head to the roof - lounge chairs and ice chest in tow.

    #19 - Yahtzee
If you haven't played, you don't know. Let's just say that when a player batting wears uniform number 11 or 22 and the scoreboard shows a 1-and-1 count with one out or a 2-and-2 count with two outs, many people get happy.

    #18 - Tigue's Pine Trees
Not long after Moore Field opened in 1978, the field's namesake, M. L. "Tigue" Moore, arranged for pine seedlings to be planted right behind and all the way around the outfield wall. It took several years for the trees to grow, but now they provide a majestic backdrop with the green of the pines contrasting with the red outfield fence.

I knew that you guys could not leave LSU out of it. Why do you fail to mention that LSU elminated ULL from the playoffs? or that LSU went on to CWS for the 11th time, while the peppers went back to lafayette to make up excuses?

How about the fact that UL only has one (1) CWS appearance and has never really done anything since then?

Why can't you just except this fact, LSU has a much better baseball prpgram than the peppers? the peppers will never acheive anything even remotely close to LSU in baseball or general aths for that matter.

No Mention of the fans down the right field line who throw "THE BOOT" every time the opposing team makes an error?? What's up with that? Hey, I sit in the bleachers on the 3rd base side and I LOVE when those guys toss "THE BOOT". Plus, they also throw the ball out to the right fielder before the start of each inning. Looks like those guys might be starting two NEW traditions at the TIGUE!!! Can't wait for tonight.

If LSU is so much better then why will they not come and play us? Or why will they not play us at the box??? They are scared! They really did well this weekend against National Power House St Mary! Man they got a hell of a team! Smoke single handedly killed the program......they are no longer a powerhouse in baseball...UL would hammer LSU today!

The "BOOT" is one of my favorite traditions for all UL sports.....the best is when there is multiple errors in the same inning and the BOOT somehow flies further and further into right field with each error.

LOL, I know what you mean. Choppie, I don't now if you can recall but there were a couple of games last year when "The BOOT" actually came untied or the string popped and the boot flew past the right fielder. Always a GOOD TIME at the Tigue.
