All-Sports Trophies are tallied all wrong

The way Conference All-Sports Trophies are tallied is a joke.

The 6th place finisher in an 11 member sport gets as many points as the 1st place finisher in a 6 member sport.

Conferences have All-Sports Trophy's that are given to the conference member with the best all around athletic program. Each sport gets points based on their respective finish.

For the Sunbelt it is called the VIC BUBAS CUP

The way it works now the first place SunBelt team in Volleyball who may or may not be ranked nationally, gets 10 points towards the VIC BUBAS trophy and the Lady Cajuns who have a top 10 team nationally cannot get more then 6 points.

"SCORING: Points are awarded based on the number of schools sponsoring the sport. Institutions not sponsoring a sport do not receive points in that sport. Institutions tying for positions split the combined points of their positions." from Sunbelt

turbine, i'm sorry, i don't understand any of this! what is a all-sports trophy? and what is it's purpose?

OK I know what this type of trophy is, but I have some questions. All you get is bragging rights with an ALL SPORT trophy right? Does the NCAA recognize when a school wins a conference all sports trophy? All you have said is you don't like it but what do you want to do? Get rid of it? That would be such a goofball thing to do? After all, it is just a guage of how schools did, I asked but I don't think it means anything to the NCAA. If it's just bragging rights let it be.
