OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The FBI says a San Antonio man suspected of
robbing nearly a dozen banks in five states, including Oklahoma,
has been arrested in Texas.
Agents say 46-year-old Douglas Edward Ford was taken into
custody without incident about 10:30 a.m. Friday in San Antonio.
Authorities in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and
New Mexico are looking into the possibility that Ford is
responsible for robberies committed in their states since March.
The FBI says the identical method and serial nature of the
robberies occurred in a regional area, leading officials to dub the
robber the "Bayou Bandit."
Ford was arrested on a federal warrant issued in Louisiana.
