I am really shocked; no one every expects one so young to pass. Condolences to Meridith and the children.

That's terribly sad news. He was a fine fine man. You don't see too many former coaches that aren't from the area that stay in constant contact and sincerely continue to be a fan. My prayers go out to the entire Hall family.

    What a loss!

My condolences to the Hall family.

This place was better with him around, even when his presence was only online.

My family went to a lot of games to watch his teams. My youngest girl and I went to a local convenience store after she played a basketball game on a Saturday morning. I think she was 5 or 6 and in her uniform. She was and is a tall girl girl for her age. Coach Hall was there and I introduced myself and Sarah. He started talking to her asking her name, age and where she went to school. Coach Hall tells me "She is sure tall for her age". He looks at her and tells her "Sarah really practice your ball skills and don't let them make you a center just because you are tall. You need to be the big strong girl playing on the outside" She took his advice and really practiced ball skills. Even though she was the tallest girl on her 5th grade team, she became the point guard because she was the best ball handler. I just want to say thanks Coach Hall.

I know we all understand that this is the circle of life.. But it stings a little more when the gentlemen of this earth depart too early.. Thanks for everything Coach

    Shocker!

    J. Kelley Hall was such a winner such an optimist. J. Kelley was already missed but always with the thought he could come home. He wanted badly to come home.

I think his last words ever on RaginPagin.com should become the mantra for all fans of UL. His last words on the subject of becoming known as Louisiana were "THINK BIG" J. Kelley Hall

    You will be missed.

Wow, sad news indeed. We lost a real UL Ragin Cajun Supporter. I always enjoyed reading his post and thought highly of him for sharing some of his thoughts here on this forum. May God bless he and his family.

A chill went down my spine last night when I heard the news. I don't know how long I sat there motionless. Absolutely too early. The University should do something for his family and his name...I'm thinking a name change to the gym is a must (That way he'll always be on campus).

Like everyone else, deep down I expected to see him back.
