    This is Upsetting grrrrrrrrrrrrr

It's a desperate last minute attempt by him to save face. It's a cowardly thing to do, when what he should have done is not even applied for the job when he knew he didn't have the credentials. I bet he was gonna try and slip under the radar, and then complete his bachelor's degree from UTSA without us even knowing it. This really irks me. He's grasping at straws. aRghhhhhhh!

    God Bless.

I hope I remember this right, cause the first go round something jumped out at me. It was after Notre Dame’s Leary guy got caught lying about credentials, when Cyprien attended Lacrosse. That appears to be a cause effect indictment right there. I don't understand how he got away with not having credentials for so long.

I'm guessing LaCrosse University is financing his lawsuit.

  8. What a Downer Cyprien lawsuit: Attorney says UL made event out of firing

LOUISIANA La. - The University of Louisiana could have avoided a lawsuit if officials would not have made a media event out of firing former basketball coach Glynn Cyprien for allegedly lying on his résumé, Cyprien's attorney said Monday.

Cyprien, who has sued the university and UL Athletic Director Nelson Schexnayder for breach of contract, defamation and loss of future wages was fired July 19, just two months into a five-year, $170,000-per-season contract.

"It's one thing to fire someone from their job, but it's another thing to launch a media attack to destroy someone's reputation," said Cyprien's attorney, Scott Yount. "If this whole matter had been handled differently, we would not be here today."

Schexnayder has said Cyprien, a New Orleans native who was an assistant coach at Oklahoma State before coming to Lafayette, was fired for claiming to have a bachelor's degree from University of Texas at San Antonio. He had attended the school but had not earned a degree.

Cyprien has acknowledged that the first résumé sent to UL wrongly listed a degree from UTSA, but said that when he interviewed for the job, he gave Schexnayder a second résumé that did not list the Texas degree but only bachelor's and master's degrees from Lacrosse, an online school based in Mississippi.

Lacrosse is not an accredited university, but Yount said the coaching job classification did not require a degree from an accredited institution.

"Cyprien did, in fact, have a bachelor's degree," Yount said.

    Attorney Scott Yount on Cyprien
"He didn't know about the termination until he heard it on the radio," Yount said.
At the time Cyprien told the media he first found out on the ESPN ticker.

What media attack? How did he expect them to handle it? Did he expect Shex to walk up to him and whisper, "Pssst. Cyp. You gave us a false resume. Sorry man, but we'll have to let you go. Don't worry. We won't tell the media. We'll just slip Lee in your place. Noone will notice. Good in the future."
When O'Leary resigned from Notre Dame because of his false resume, he didn't sue Notre Dame. There was a heck of alot more press on his ordeal than Cyp's. If you want to talk about media attack, ask O'Leary. He took it like a man, accepted responsibility for his actions, and moved on.

Yeah, we should be more careful it could be construed as media assault.
