I'll say he should feel miserable. HE IS RESPONSIBLE!
Nelson should resign, but he doesn't have the balls to do so.

You should have hired Rickey Broussard, He has three real degrees.
Don't blame them for our F____up. Blame Nelson and Ray
I realize our part and Cyprien's part in creating this mess. But the TP never gives UL the time of day unless its something negative and then they seem to jump on the story full force.
Coach Cyprien was the best thing to happen to ULL - his record speaks for itself, not his resume. Coach Lee was "passed-up" the first time for a reason. Who did the "anonymous" call come from people - a bitter, ex-assistant that wasn't hired after 8 years of service?
I agree with you. I don't think basketball is a real sport but Cyprien would have been good for the program. The University of Louisiana should have taken a page from the University of Houston and let CP get his degree and coach at the same time.
To bad we don't have an air hockey team for you to join!! :confused:I don't think basketball is a real sport...
The thing is it becomes irrelevant who turned Cyprien in. This isn't a question of whether coach Cyprien is qualified to be a head coach or not, in my opinion he very qualified to coach, and I was loving the transition job he was doing.Originally posted by jast

He just isn't qualified to be a coach at the University of Louisiana, or any institution of higher learning.
UNLV is saying today he wouldn't be hired there either. LINK In fact I doubt anyone can find a school that will hire him short of a widespread accredited degree.
In fact if I were coach Cyprien I would high tail it to class, and ask Coach Lee for a job as an assistant next season.
maybe for ull, but not for the university of louisiana, and that's here in lafayette, louisiana. stupidity comes from the lack of knowledge. if i see you two guys on this board again i may stop coming to it.......gee wiz.
Its kinda like who shot JFK. Who had the most to gain from his death? Lyndon B. Johnson. Did he have something to do with it? Maybe, but we will never know.
Jast, you are obviously an outsider with an agenda....
If you are not smart enough to realize that something like this may come back to bite you on the ~~~.
The you are not smart enough to coach at the University of Louisiana.....
The debate is over.....let it lie...
Best of luck to Coach Lee.

It is a shame to see what has happened but how can you let a man coach who does not have a certified degree from an accredited University and then expect his players to repect him for pushing them to get a degree. Somehow isn't that hypocrisy. I liked to have seen what would have been but when you start making exception and bending the rules, then someone will call you on it down the road. He had plenty of chances to come clean on his degree and he didn't. Has anyone found out how many hours he lacked to finish. I mean if it was less than fifteen hours, how stupid not to finish before going into coaching at Lamar. Money talks b*** s*** walks. His fault.
