_ I fully support the partnership...I hope this blossoms into something that gets bigger in time. BUT why why why do we keep putting yellow on anything UL? Neither Tabasco nor UL have yellow as an official color. I don't get it.

Is this going to be publicized outside of Lafayette and New Iberia? Seems like a very low key announcement for something that has such a huge awareness potential for UL. Of course, the Ragin Cajuns by itself may not tie into the university to the average person outside of Louisiana. Really good for a certain restaurant in Houston, though.

I was at a conference in Houston and one guy from the west coast and another from Florida didn't know who U S L or U L L or U L was... then I said "have you heard of the Ragin Cajuns?" Both guys go "oh hell yes"... now I know what school you are. The west coast guy was very impressed with our baseball program. Our identity is tightly wound around "Ragin Cajuns".

And, you don't start off a new venture, something you've never done before, and blast it all over the place. I would crucify the UL marketing department if they did anything other than sample the local response with a low key campaign on this first. Don't you think Tabasco has some say in how this transpires as well?

I wonder if some geek in the McIlhenny family runs around upset that "Tabasco" is better known than "McIlhenny" like some of our knuckleheads get worried about every worthless thing under the sun?

Follet's on campus has shirts and koozies. I haven't been to the Union yet, but I'd assume they'd have them too.
