Mr Frenchie, I take exception about your commits on the solfball park. This is a typical government project. It is slow. However, complaining about this and not giving one penny to RCAF is not solving the problem. I am calling you out on this, because it is the right thing to do.
Also, ask any of the girls, coachs and staff. Even thou the Lady Cajun Softball Park in not yet complete, it is still the nicest park they have played this year by a long shot!!
Well Lefitte untill you pay my way in anything I don't give a damn if you take exception about my comments. And if the progress of building this park is alrigtht with you than so be it. I make a trip to the park about everyday and see first hand what's being done. Example, today no one there except a vender picking up his gear to go to the track field. No one working in the locker room. No one laying bricks are wireing the press box and puting in floors and wall. No plumbers in the restrooms. No one putting in the rest of the chair back. My contribution is $2950.00 of season tickets. Contributing to the RCAF is my business and only my business. What's your job, digging in records to see who contributes? And I would think that you are in the minority of the ones that feel OK with the progress being done..Section G row K seats 11 &12...baseball. Come viist and lets talk about it.
Hopefully we'll learn from this before we get to the bigger projects like Tigue Moore and Cajun Field.
I think that is the only course of action at this point. This contractor should be examined very closely and meet certain requirements before allowed to work on any other project on the UL campus. Having said that, there is nothing any sitting politician is going to do or can do despite the rhetoric of some on this board that think they can. This is a state contract and they are not going to fire the contractor and send it out to bid again. And demanding that Scott Farmer do something about it is an exercise in stupidty, there is nothing he can do when they state takes months to approve any changes in design or construction. All the foot stomping and picture taking in the world is not going to change that fact. IMO
Other than this board, where is the local press on this??? Stevie P has already dismissed anyone wanting to complain about it... but thats par for the course for him..... Jay? Josh??
How about making some noise about this??????
yeah, that's about what one would expect from stevie p. let's not rock the boat or shake the foundation, forget about making noise about anything that might anger the powers of the university. he's got too much to lose. or so he thinks. everything is just hunkie-dorie, ad nauseum.
You are right, T...and this is how so many state projects go. And it is almost impossible, under state law, to restrict an underperforming contractor from future work.
As part of a local municipality, we tried a couple of times and could not.
The University is simply at their mercy.

There were a many of us that did a lot of work as volunteers a few years back with Gerald Hebert. (We dismantled the old baseball stadium and carted it off in about 6 hours). Gerald had "professional" volunteers doing all kinds of work. I know that I can mount seats. I know that he had guys that could lay bricks. I'd be willing to help finish the job as a volunteer if the contractor will refund some of the money back to the university.........
