Wo is doing the work? Is it the same State-connected group that did the IPF? the pace of the work and the size of the crew assigned seems the same.
Well, the McNeese game is tomorrow night. Is there still going to be a formal dedication of the stadium even though it apparently is still not completed? Any more pictures of the stadium to indicate its current status?
Look at the shot's I took March 11, Update softball park and that's what you get. Nothing being done. Just a little plumbing work in the restrooms. I thing they will have chamber pots in them. This is a disgrace. Treating us like a stepchild. They could have finish the chairbacks but the crew took off for a few days. Nobody working. Just left from there and one man using a push broom to clean of the parking lot.,.......
Is there not a crew in Lafayette that can seize the opportunity of being "saviors" of this project so they can ____ can these bums working there now? I mean seriously, it would be tough to find a worse crew to finish this up. The girls, the University and fans deserve better.

Still disgraceful for a contractor to be so irresponsible and inept.

Took a couple of photos late yesterday to give you a center field view. The stadium is going to look great!
There is not one years worth of work on this project. I would be nice if somebody from the athletic department would say something about what the problem was. I "heard" that there was a problem with one of the buildings that needed State approval and that approval took four months. Without knowing for sure if that indeed was true, then that explains a some of it. BUT, that does not mean that other work could not have taken place and finished during that time. I feel that there is more here than meets the eye, what that may be I don't know.
Unfortunately, when dealing with contract obligations, some things cannot be said publicly because if there is any future litigation it could hurt your case or be used against you. Putting the screws to a contractor could result in default which is not a good situation at all. I hope that all the bonds are in place and with a strong surety company.
We happen to reside in a state who doesn't protect higher education, and is looking at cutting funding again next years just like they have the past two years. We are actively building NEW facilities on the main campus (union, housing) and athletics (softball, upcoming in baseball) while everyone else is cutting services & facilities.
Maybe I just like looking on the positive things in life, but we have a softball team that consistently ranks in the top 20 in the country as a mid major. We have coaches who do a wonderful job with the team and the young ladies that are part of our program represent us wonderfully. We will have a new stadium shortly the equal to anyone at any level of college softball. I'll take the coaches attitude on this one, and be very happy we are in a position to get a new stadium built in the present economic climate, and if it takes a couple of extra months, so be it.
This program started from nothing, and has come to represent the best of what we are as a school and region. How about us fans do the same.
