Scott is also right in that we can host a regional as is. I've been a student of this for a couple of decades. I've read the NCAA 2011 document listing requirments for hosting a regional......and keep in mind that Scott is not only our AD but the chairman of the softball selection committee!!!!!

If he says we can host as is you can bet on it. Is it exactly what we want? No. Is it better than 95% of the facilities out there? yes. Does it mean NCAA requirements? YES.

We have the best shot in a long time of being an NCAA host site. _
That shot just took a kick in the teeth:

I understand that concern. Surprising we are down that far. Good thing is that the SBC is stronger than years past.

    We will need improvement however.

Not really. 23 opponents in that 24-5 record. 16 of those 23 with losing records, 8 of those 16 with more than twice as many losses as wins, Rhode Island has 1 win on the season. This is about as weak a schedule as we have had in a long time. We may very well wind up regretting cancelling the Houston games, who starts in this ranking @ #30.

What's our record vs top 50 RPI teams? Or even top 25 teams?

So my story idea was shot down precisely for the reasons I thought it might. So I'm going to do a story on the new attitude that Coach Hudspeth is bringing, not only to football, but to athletics in general.

Could even get BK to expand on the economic impact as well. How the increase in support of UL athletics will affect his cotton candy business!!!!
