Hopefully, JP or BOP won't beat me to the punch. :-)

LOL that's because the s.m. knows there is no PRO UL programing to counter a slightly negative story.

ps please tell Judith Meriwether the FCC only requires stations to state the town once an hour. She can drop the every phrase utterance of UL at Lafayette, when she does the calendar programing. Also can she add sporting events to the calendar?

NM I have asked her myself before, and I don't want to get you in trouble.

If you can't get a current interview, Scott is very buzy . . . there are 3 historical Softball stadium threads here on RP where you can get some historical timeline events thoughts and quotes.

I did not say it was halted due to a legal issue. It is obvious that the contractor is not meeting obligations. This COULD result in legal action if it continues. As such most people will not discuss matters that COULD end up in front of a judge.

You are correct. I doubt if anybody in any position of authority will be willing to comment publicly on this matter. I'm thinking that's why there is so little information coming out of the athletic department. Kind of like a divorce, you know it's happening you just don't need to know how.

Helmut (and Cajun90), I'm glad you posted. I understand that it will probably be difficult to get anyone to talk (if at all), but that's what journalism is all about--getting the important people to talk about important topics.

It ought to be interesting to see what, if anything, is said and by whom.

    Keep us posted.

Like I said originally go for it. The worst thing that happens is we know nothing more than we do today. My point is that there could be a valid reason that information isn't forthcoming.

Im no lawyer or anything, but my guess is that there is a plan to take legal action resulting in the current silence on the topic. Just my guess. And if they arent taking legal action its a shame. How many pics have been posted of blue skies and sunshine and no one working.

Will this Stadium be finished before the regionals? This is ridiculous. I can very well see UL losing a regional because of this.

And before someone says,"then we'll just have to go to Baton Rouge and win". We (LSU) will not be in a position to host (actually I'm not sure we even make a regional).

Maybe this should be a separate thread but I was wondering after renewing Errol Rodgers contract and the handling of the softball stadium construction I am having second thoughts on whether or not we should consider making Farmer our permanent AD?????

This is not a good start to his tenure. I give Walker credit for Marlin and Hudspeth so Farmer's first real impact is Rodgers and The Softball Stadium completion in my mind.

    What are your thoughts?

Bill Crist, he is head of the Physical Plant, an Architect and is in on ALL construction at UL. He is the man on campus for all repairs, etc with the well being UL buildings.
