As a softball season ticket holder I for one am not at all happy with the progress of the Stadium. I remember talking to Scott Farmer at the end of last season and he said it would be finished in november. Well that was over three months ago. After the game the night of the 15, there was no lighting under the bleachers. A woman fell and we had to block the people comming up behind us because they could not see her. It would not be a good thing to have fans get hurt and then sue the university because no one wants to make the contractor mad.
I tend to be an optimist about these things. And I think that all of you season ticket holders have a right to be upset. The only suggestion that I can offer would be 1) call Farmer and see what is going on. 2) call the contractor personally 3) call your state representative and have them bug the contractor in their official capacity.
I am as guilty as anyone at coming on here to air my grievances. But, if anyone can provide me with info on the contractor I will gladly write letters to their president expressing my displeasure.

aggravation aside this will be one of the top 15 maybe top 10 softball parks in the country when all is said and done.
it will be nicer than all but two (Arizona State and Washington) stadiums in the beloved Pac-10 and that includes Arizona and UCLA
the SEC has some pretty nice ones in Tennessee and LSU and a few more but ours will be something special, can't wait to see it complete
Finally, someone makes a productive suggestion. It may surprise some of you, but Scott does take our phone calls and has been receptive to listening to what we have to say. While there is only so much he can do about moving this project along, he can inform you as to what is occurring.
One other point: just because some of us, including the on air people such as Steve, Jay, Billy, etc., don't react to news or situations the way you do or the way you want us to in certain situations, doesn't make us wrong, nor does it give you the right to insult us. You don't know what some people do off this message board or off the air especially if we don't broadcast it. Remember, we love this university and it's athletic program also, we just don't have to love it the same way you do.
People complain when bridges take to long to complete and this stadium is a bridge to the future. If you don't care dont complain. Please though don't bash those who care. Why does nobody know who the contractor is? Does he have naked pciture of Scott Farmer?
My Communications 357 class produces a weekly radio show from KRVS called Louisiana Focus. I'm planning on doing a story on why the softball stadium is taking so long to complete. Scott Farmer is obviously one of the first people I would want to talk to, but do you guys have any idea who else I should try to interview? Thanks in advance.
Give it your best shot. However if this has degraded to a potential legal issue, and I think it has, I doubt you will find anyone on either side of this willing to discuss the situation very much. Certainly not if they are following the advice of their legal consul.
This is the first I've heard about the projected halted due to legal issues...is this true?

When is your show on?
I actually caught it a week ago but can't remember the day or time.
I was in shock, there I was driving around thinking how much I like KRVS but lamenting how there is nothing really pro UL on.
Then out of nowhere your program comes on. Like I said, I was in shock.

It usually airs Mondays at 3 (unless it conflicts with another show or if my classmates can't meet a frikin' deadline--then it's moved to Wednesday). I'll probably have a problem getting my idea aired, though, since the station manager hates airing anything that might be construed as negativity toward UL.
