If a picture is worth a thousand words, there's a lot you can say about the oil spill and Lafayette is turning those pictures into economic help.
It's a powerful image... the oil is everywhere.
Jackline Cox is nine months pregnant... and already, she worries about the future of her children here in Lafayette.
"Our economy has been greatly affected by this oil spill," Cox said. "It's not just going to go away in a couple of months."
"It's not just this generation that it's going to affect," Jade Harrington said. "It's going to be my grandkids."
Harrington is part of a photo campaign that started here in Louisiana and it's made its way around the country... It's called sp(OIL)ed- the purpose, to raise money to protect our jobs and our coastline.
The image is of regular people- you and me, hands covered in "oil." The picture represents the thousands upon thousands of people and jobs that have been affected by this oil disaster- either financially or environmentally.
