I really look forward to getting to see JVC play this year. I truly think he will (if he stays healthy) break all of our passing records. I hope as he breaks these records the team is winning along the way.
against UAB Jon VanCleave's final numbers showed that he had 14 yards on 7 carries, however I thought he showed some very good timing skills on when to run and when not to.
In the next post I will post a video of his best run on the night.
The ball was on the Cajun 34 yard line, he lined up in the shotgun, took a few steps back to the 27, and took off gaining 11 yards to the Cajun 45.
Best run of the night was Jon Van Cleave's 11 yard scamper against UAB
Lets compare JVC's numbers through the first 5 games last year to this year

The first 5 games of 2002 have been against much better teams than in 2001 (3 BCS teams this year compared to 2 last year). We have the same record but despite the big loss Saturday we should have more confidence. We are 1-1 against C-USA (Non-BCS) with an 26 pints per game avg against them and 18 points allowed. We can and will compete for the Sun Belt title.
