UPDATE 10:30
NEW TONIGHT---CROWLEY POLICE SAY THEY ARE QUESTIONING WHAT THEY CALL A PERSON OF INTEREST IN A MURDER CASE.

OFFICERS SAY PHILLIP CREDEUR IS IN CUSTODY TONIGHT IN CONNECTION WITH THE STABBING DEATH OF A CROWLEY WOMAN.
KATC'S MIKE MAGNOLI HAS THE STORY FROM CROWLEY.

The lawn is cut, there's no sign of trouble-- by all visual indications, everything at Barbara Savante's place is fine: Neighbors called her Ms. Bobbi. Police say she was in her late 50s.

Slyvia Monceaux was friends with Ms. Bobbi and was stunned to find police officers and crime scene tape on her block. She says all kinds of crimes happen here, but rarely do they see cops.

Off camera, May Street residents are talking about what goes on here. Drug dealing and drug violence-- all within range of children they say. Some neighbors say the victim of this murder, Ms. Bobbi, was involved with that element, specifically prescription pain meds, but police would not confirm that. What police will say is that from the very beginning they had a person of interest.

28 year old Phillip Credur, a white male with short brown hair who was formerly a resident of May street...he is now in custody and being questioned.
Update: Crowley murder
