Thread: Interest in Jessie

hey! now you got it....coach Lee, he's paid his dues and he is a good coach believe it, as an assistant under jesse, he was/is limited as to what he can do. he knows what needs to be fixed, knows the schools in the area, knows the coaches, recruits, and he wants to be here, on top of that he's a good guy, respected, and would demand discipline from his players, and on top of that he certainly deserves a chance......he's one of us.

Yeah I'm all for the local thing but if you compare Robert Lee and Rickey Broussard, there's not much comparison, plus Rickey would probably keep Coach Lee on if he gets the job.

Phew!!! I hate to hear the griping, moaning and bashing of the administration if Rickey Broussard is not selected as the head coach. I would imagine that all of the advocates would surely not buy season tickets.

I've wanted Jessie to go for a while now. I wonder if SFU will be happy when there players start getting horribel grades and all that jazz.

It seems like Jessie made alot of recruiting visits to St. Mary's Shelter for the Retarded.

Think long and hard about giving Ricky Broussard the head coaching position if Jessie does leave. Nelson has never been one to hurry a decision about any head coaching job. Ricky would have to go through the interview process just like anyone else and Nelson would certainly make this a national search.
I'm not even sold on the idea that Jessie would make a lateral/lower move to USF even if the money is better. Jessie would have to start from scratch to get them back to post season play while the Cajuns are pretty much established as a post season team every year now. We'll see over the next few days.

I'm not sure why, but it seems awfully peculiar to praise this Broussard for what he MIGHT do IF he gets this coaching position. How soon we forget what Evans HAS done. I can't put my finger on it, but...it may be a little pre-mature to claim that this "local" boy will for sure be better than Jesse.

Jessie and his agent maybe should rethink their apparent disdain for UL, as reports are that USF has entered talks with Perry Clark's attorney. Clearly they see Clark as a man that has had to deal with academics at Tulane, and maybe even at Miami. I think that they are making a mistake in Clark regardless of what they think about Jessie.

Folks remember Jessie is under contract until the the end of the June or July. IMO he should act like it and return to recruiting hard for UL. If he has a problem with that we should advise him that he is no longer in our future plans. I don't want to hear Jessie is in this city or that city in prime recruiting season unless there is a candidate that he has some reasonable chance of getting for UL.

What are they thinking? Perry Clark couldn't coach his way out of a brown paper bag!

It is OK to hire a winner that was once a loser, but never hire a loser, even if he was once a winner.

With all the money in the collegiate world, he couldn't win at Miami. Perry Clark is now a loser.
