Right. U say in one breath. Bustle needs to play him to get the wins, then in the next breath u say he just needs to let Blaine get experience. Also Mike D was a pretty amazing athlete at QB. There is a reason Blaine is not on the field, hopefully this is his break out year.

just about every year our starting QB has some form of injury. chances are, blaine will get a chance to start or at least see some time if masson is injured. I'm in no way hoping masson will get injured but im just saying history has told me that he very well could. Masson's experience gives UL the best chance of winning though. not blaine. This would be a good year to develop him but like clutch said, bustle needs to win NOW and i doubt blaine will be able to get UL 7 wins with this schedule. Masson has a better shot at getting those wins. He is the starter.
Another under the radar piece of info is the whole Brandon Williams thing. He was going in as our #2 TE and primary run blocker at the position. This doesn't seem to concern many but I think we are relatively thin at the position and I'm curious to see who earns that spot and how they respond.
I've already filed my story for Friday and missed the Trace Wilson move to TE. Jesse Broadnax went to LB from DE and Lionel Stokes goes to S from CB.
The No. 2 TE right now behind Green is Maxwell. He had at least one pretty nice catch today in traffic.
I note on your blog that you will have the players heights and weights in a couple of days. I noticed UL has the 2010 roster on its website, but the returning player's weights look the same as last year. Is that just to show a current roster with last year's information until updated or is it accurate? I seem to remember last year different player sizes reported on UL's website vs. Scout, for example.
I'm sure they will update their website. Once that is done, I will use those numbers unless I speak directly to an athlete and his gives me something entirely different. As JP noted in his report from yesterday, there a few examples of athletes that seem to be off. Amari Williams told us yesterday he was 264-pounds.
I'll play Devil's Advocate for a second, mainly because I'm curious myself.
But what has Gautier done to make you think he needs to be on the field? Not bashing the kid, it's an honest question, because I haven't seen him extensively since high school. He was fantastic in high school and like a lot of people, I had high hopes for him at UL, and still do.
The little bit of fall camp I caught last year, he was working at the No. 3 guy and struggled in the practices I saw.
So, I'm just curious. He's been here two years now, what has he done to make you feel the way you do?
And like I said, this is not a post meant to bash him. I'm asking honestly because I honestly haven't seen him that much since he got to UL.
