A 21 year old Jennings man is still missing after his truck was found abandoned and wrecked Sunday. Jeff Davis Officials are actively looking for Jayce Dupuis, but his family says they're not doing enough.
Gloria Sexton, Dupuis' mother, says Jayce went to Wal-Mart early Sunday morning. She says the man who went with him was the last person to see him. Sexton says that man told officials that Dupuis slammed into a pole at Wal-Mart, then fled down I-10 to the next exit on Hwy 97. The man also claimed that the two dumped the truck into Bayou Nezpique and then, parted ways.
"It's my son's truck, but, he doesn't care about it... he would just want his cousin to be safe," said Roiyon Self, Dupuis' aunt. Self says officials have been treating this case as though Dupuis is simply hiding out, because of wrecking and dumping the truck. "I hope he did just do a stupid thing, and he's hiding and he's scared because the other alternative is not good."
But, Dupuis' mother is fearing the worst. "I think he was murdered... I think he was murdered," said Sexton. She says Jayce has never gone missing before, and that officials should be looking for foul play.
Even though Sexton thinks something terrible may have happened, she's hoping for the best.
"If you know where he is... if he's dead and you where he is please come forward. If Jayce is watching please come forward, we love you come home."
Dupuis is approximately 5'11" and weighs 135 lbs. He has brown eyes and brown hair.
