Agreed. It's a sad situation. (It's actually three wins for the Cajuns over LSU in the past three years. Twice in 2008 and once in 2010. I forgot it was twice in '08 until looking it up again!) My guess is Hollier will have a chance to face her old team again in 2011.

Is it possible that Yvette has a bigger problem than Courtney with the members of her program? What else would justify making an example of a student-athlete that some LSU people stated was inconsequential to the position she competed for?

I can see a coach that is concerned over a larger exodus dismissing how bad this makes her look in the softball community. Otherwise, I cannot see her rationalization.

I suspect that if the Lady Tigers don't get out of a regional in 2011, Coach Girouard may not be there in 2012.

Josh, I suspect you meant to say Hollier will have a chance to face her old team in 2012 rather than 2011. After all, she won't be allowed to play until 2012. There is nothing we can do about this now and come 2013, we may be happy Hollier is still playing. She will have two years to play regardless of this decision as she has never redshirted before. Major downside about this is were she to get injured prior to or early in a season, she may have difficulty acquiring a medical redshirt year.

I hope they don't get rid of her. It's too fun to watch!

Hollier could face LSU in 2011 - but not be able to play against the Tigers until 2012. Sometimes even I make mistakes.

Nothing anyone can do about the situation now. Hollier is ready to work hard in school and practice to be ready when she is finally eligible.

Josh, I thought you mentioned that Yvette called you. However, in your article it states that Yvette "issued a statement" and could not be reached for additional comments.

Anything else you can comment on about your talk with Yvette?

Also, Hollier's comments seem weird. She claims to be very satisfied with her role with LSU, but then says that she was unhappy with how things were going.

Can you elaborate on Hollier's comments? Do you think it was the same ole, "I just want to be closer to home?"

I still think there is something a lot more than, "Just because UL beat LSU, she doesn't want any players to transfer". Remember, Hollier was on the team that UL beat, so that reasoning doesn't make sense.

There's got to be a lot more to this than we know right now.

I mentioned I received a response from coach Girouard. Never spoke to her. Statement was sent through the LSU sports information office.

As for Hollier, this situation is not just that she wants to be closer to home. She started 50 games as a sophomore in the SEC, so it's tough to argue that she didn't like her role on the team.

There is a lot more to this story than what's been reported publicly so far. The problem is, I've received only part of the story. Coach Girouard has decided to stay silent, which is a shame because all that does is fuel the speculation and rumors right now.

Quail always stay quiet. Flush the quail, Josh. The shotguns need to speak.

Oh is that is what you see----OPEN your eyes----There is a huge policy change between schools----a normal transfer from UL to LSU and LSU to UL is now wait a year-----OPEN your eyes---also the policy was afforded to other Universities as per article!!!!!!!!
