    Unfortunately, Hollier's appeal was denied.

This story is getting some national attention on www.ultimatecollegesoftball.com; under what's up with LSU's Girouard.

    The direct link is http://robocoach.websitetoolbox.com/post?id=4830457.

It's funny to read how misinformed some people are. It's also scary to read how hateful and petty some can be.

I say, "let the KID play BALL"; "let HER PLAY"!

Am I the only one who missed it? Or is today, Thursday?

Unfortunately Courtney Hollier will not get to play and that is a true disgrace to a student athlete....That is just really disturbing!.....And that is suppose to be a "flagship" university and keeping a LOUISIANA athlete from playing softball!......UGH!....

This happens all the time. LSU had a basketball center that transferred from Ole Miss, but had to sit out last year. It's not "disturbing". I know in the past that Yvette has allowed players to transfer to UL. I know Lotief allowed an UL player go to LSU.

Why this time it's different? I don't know. That's why I was curious to read Parrot's article. I know LSU has a "hot shot" shortstop coming in, so I don't know what the big deal is with Yvette not letting her play this year.

IMO, It is something personal. Therefore, the whole story will never come out. Yvette will give her spin. Hollier will give her spin. The Lotief's will give their spin. etc.

Just to clarify, I think the basketball situation is different because the rules ncaa require them to sit one year. In the case of softball the ncaa does nto require a transfer to sit out a year. I have heard that there is an SEC rule that softball transfers between SEC schools do have to sit out but unless we got an SEC invite that I missed that would not apply either.

Completely different situation. Basketball and football players HAVE to sit out a year unless the NCAA says otherwise (hardship transfers, etc.).

Softball players can be released and be eligible to play immediately. Heidi Pizer transferred from UL to LSU and played this season after playing 2009 for the Cajuns.

Frankly, it's bush league to not grant Hollier a release and IMHO it's mainly because Yvette is tired of getting her ass handed to her by the red team down the road.
