I'm not expecting to get a comment from coach Girouard. But I do expect to get a response from someone in the sports information office. And I at least have to try or else I'm not doing my job. Just comes with the territory.

I know, just saying that's been their operating procedure in the past in dealing with coaches decisions on releasing athletes to other programs. Good luck.

Got ya. I have a pretty good working relationship with the guys in the LSU SID office, so I'm hoping that might pay off. (Some of those guys are out of town on vacation right now, but they're still working on the situation for me.) Quite honestly, at this point I'm just looking for a reaction since I've already found out from UL that Hollier has pre-registered. In the end, no reaction from LSU is at least something!

Yes, the Cajuns did recruit her. But we didn't have anything left to offer, including partial's at the time.

Boomer, look at my initial blog in this thread. With Kelly Cormier gone, Hollier would have an opportunity to step in and start for the Cajuns in 2011. Second base is one of the spots that the Cajuns have to fill for next year as well as third base and catcher.

Hollier was recruited by UL out of Kaplan High School, starting in her junior year. She committed to LSU in the fall of her junior year after an LSU football game which she attended on an unofficial visit. So it's untrue about money or partial scholarship offer from UL or any of that other baloney. It is customary for the big schools (BCS) to get the kids to come to their schools first on unofficial visits and if the offers are "sufficient", it is hard for a 16 year old to say "no".

She went to LSU because she thought it offered her a good opportunity (softball and academics); in a good, wholesome environment -- but after being there two years, she felt uncomfortable with the softball enviroment. At 20 years old, a kid has a better idea of the things that will make her happy -- a football team running out of the tunnel just ain't as important as the team chemistry and values and day to day operation of your softball team.

First, let me just say I have watched the state softball championships in Sulphur three out of the last four years. So I have seen Kaplan play, but I don't follow LSU softball. I don't know when Hollier committed to LSU, but I do know the Cajuns had a number of middle inf. on scholarship in Kelly Cormier, Paige Cormier, Jessica Dupont, Cody Ruyan and Courtney Trahan that year. I was told then and maybe this was after she committed to LSU, that the Cajuns had no more scholarships available. I didn't say UL did not offer her or recruit her.

I'm sure she will be a great addition to the UL program, which has strong fan support and is much like a large family. I wish her and the family the best of luck, and look forward to seeing her playing in the UL program.

From everything I've heard from people who know whats going on, sounds like another case of horrible player management by Yvette.
